This morning, Rep. Mark Gamba and I have an op-ed in the @oregonian.com responding to the bare bones transpo funding bill #OrLEg passed Mon. We need significant, strategic investment in our infrastructure - it's critical both for safety and to support our economy.

Opinion: Oregon needs strategic transportation investments, not stopgaps
While legislators authorized some new funding for transportation, the need for more significant, strategic investment in our infrastructure is critical both for safety and to support our economy, writ...

Yesterday we gathered at Luuwit View Park to mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims #WDoR2025, led by @pdx-fss.bsky.social. Traffic violence continues to take lives & injure 1000s every year, disproportionately harming BIPOC, low-income, & unhoused Oregonians.

💬 We're quoted: "This referendum isn’t about protecting Oregonians: it is about defunding safety for kids walking to school, dismantling transit service, and blocking modernization projects that Oregon desperately needs."

Read on to learn more about the anti-safe transportation efforts...
Governor Tina Kotek signed a new state transportation funding package into law on Monday. Later that day, two state legislators and an anti-tax advocate filed a petition with the state in hopes of sending a referendum on the bill’s tax increases to Oregon voters.

A bit more about Wilson's intensified police activity. While running errands this am, witnessed PPB stopping folks in dangerous ways. 1) blocking the closed-loop streetcar on Grand, and 2) bike lane on Foster.

In both cases, they could have used a non-busy car travel lane or nearby parking lot.
November 12, 2025 at 6:55 PM
Reminder: Wilson's homelessness plan was never vetted, has always been unfunded. Plus, the city was out to lunch during the state transportation package where additional cleanup dollars could have been negotiated (...we barely held onto the 50/30/20 formula split FFS).

Please give if you can - between Trump and Drazan, the GOP is doing everything they can to dismantle transportation funding for anything but highways in Oregon.

The Street Trust REALLY needs your support in this end of year giving campaign.

Senate Dems, do not cave. Ensuring healthcare premiums don’t surge is an 80-20 issue. They want to gut the ACA because their disdain for Obama far outweighs their concern for anyone’s health.

Just when I thought I couldn't love the Groce Out more.

"Miller said customers have used about $500 of the $5,000 set aside at his Lincoln City store. McGinty said customers have used about $1,000 of the $5,000 at his McMinnville business."

Practical compassion FTW.
After federal rules nixed their plans to offer food-insecure people a discount, I found three Oregon grocery stores that are using the honor system to help SNAP recipients. My story today: www.oregonlive.com/business/202...
Feds told Oregon grocers they couldn’t offer 10% off to SNAP recipients, so they got creative
The honor system is in place at three Oregon stores, now offering discounts to all who need it.

democrats should attack the supreme court because it harms people but also because it is an explicitly partisan institution that will stymie every future democratic government. it insists that democrats are not allowed to govern, so for democrats to govern they must remake it
