Remember this for elections next year, Vancouver folks.
Honestly gobsmacked by ABC's referral of my road safety motion to staff.
Halloween is the most dangerous night of the year for CHILDREN.
This was an attempt to use an existing process to keep CHILDREN safe, and ABC punted it to staff w/o offering an alternative.
Really, guys?

Believing it is wasteful if public services aren’t stretched to their absolute limit at all times is a fascinating ideological position.

I wrote an article about parking, and with curbside space being a finite resource, businesses betting on it to forever sustain them might be quite the gamble.
The topical example is of course Burnaby Heights and BRT, but the argument can apply to many other uses.

Victoria councillor here. This is a very big problem and another strike against municipal parties.
We are taught, upon election, that strategizing is allowed as long as it does not meet quorum. Quorum = 6 in Vancouver, so they seem to have broken it. And city staff should know better.
