Seattleite. Urbanist. Democrat.
It freaking rocks that an incoming council member is cheering on @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social. It'd have been easy for @linforseattle.bsky.social to focus only on his own race in the hopes of avoiding Harrell's ire in case he won.
So many orgs/electeds took this path, it says a lot that he didn't!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

Ironically, here in Seattle USPS unreliability in postmarking lead to a larger percentage of ballots being placed in drop boxes which overwhelmed our elections office and means we still don't know who won the Mayor's race.
This is just a racist-ageist-ableist disenfranchisement attempt.

Breaking News: The Supreme Court said that it would hear a challenge to a Mississippi law that could upend mail-ballot rules in many states before the midterm elections.
Supreme Court to Hear Major Challenge to Mail-In Ballot Laws
The justices agreed to hear a challenge to Mississippi’s law, a case that could upend similar measures in dozens of states before the 2026 election.

Learning that our gas company was required to disconnect our gas line for free was absolutely a joyful moment.
"Just warning you, it'll be $10k if you ever want to hook it up again" - thanks, but that's not going to be a problem.

One last thing, though: I cannot emphasize enough the joy and satisfaction I've gotten from every major step in the home decarbonization process. Maybe it's Type 2 fun, but the sense of agency and sticking it to fossil fuels despite their best efforts is priceless. Everybody deserves that privilege.

Bruce Harrell is a failed Mayor because he wastes expensive SPD resources on this rather than tackling our actual problems.
SPD out here on Northgate shutting down the taco stand between 8th and Roosevelt due to "multiple licensing and health code violations" that they wouldn't provide anymore info about.

Thursday drop. Wilson trails Harrell by 9,908, 5.7%. The gap begins to close.
We are apparently STILL not into a drop box sample yet, or only including some drop box data. There's a TON of votes expected to lean Wilson out there.

My take? @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social is still the favorite.
Until we have Thursday drop data (assuming it is election day dropbox data), we have no good reason to think otherwise, even if we do have reason to FEEL nervous.

As the arrest unfolded, teachers pleaded with the agents telling them the teacher had a work permit. The agents went into multiple rooms looking for teachers while children were present. One teacher hid with a child in her care while the agents stormed the facility.

Of COURSE the Seattle Times guy who thinks online news isn't real news is railing against news vouchers, which he says consist of Katie Wilson "taking $10 million from taxpayers" to fund people he looks down on—independent news producers who now all have to compete with each other for supporters.
News vouchers resurface in Seattle mayoral race
News vouchers may sounds promising, especially in the words of Seattle mayoral candidate Katie Wilson, but they are deeply problematic.
