Here’s a disturbing video from Evanston of a federal agent hitting a man on the ground as people yell that he can’t breathe.

NYC Democratic electeds who oppose Mamdani at this point are making a very risky bet. They are just asking to be primaried if he wins, as he is most likely will.

They should go ask the IDC how much Democratic primary voters like Democrats who ally with conservatives to block other Dems.
Every single Democratic elected who represents NYC should be proudly endorsing Zohran Mamdami, who won the primary fair & square. They should be helping him however he & his team ask.

If they mealy-mouth it or, worse, stand with Cuomo, *they* will be why people hate the party.
NEW from me: Cuomo will NOT drop out tomorrow by the deadline to pull out of the general election.

Still deciding on keeping going on his own line, but he sees a path through a wider general electorate and more scrutiny on Mamdani.

Several Democrats in power have revealed themselves to share Trump’s hostility to the American values of equality and pluralism. They should be opposed and rebuked just as vehemently.
At 24m, she claims that it doesn't matter "the meaning that is in your brain; it matters how it is received".... in the very same speech in which she repeats Islamophobic tropes about Zohran Mamdani.

Does she apply that standard to her own Islamophobia? Or is it only used to attack Muslims?

been getting yelled at for almost five months now about how "there's nothing Democrats can do, they're in the minority" and yet WHEN they can block bad Republican legislation what are they doing? passing it
Dammit. In other disheartening news, looks like the Senate voted for cloture on the awful Genius Act. Couldn’t have done it without Democratic help. Vote is still coming in. Unofficial tally 60 to 29 so far

Public office is a sweet little treat given to our oldest, and nicest, friends. The reverse Werther’s Original.
"What do you want?"

Answer: RETIRE. You're 84 years old!
What a statement from 84-year-old Dem Rep. Jim Clyburn:

“Nancy left her seat. Steny left his seat. I left my seat. What the hell I’m supposed to do now?” Clyburn said when asked whether the party needed to think of bringing in younger members. “What do you want—me to give up my life?”

Americans make 1930s Germany comparisons because it’s one of the only historical moments they know (however superficially) but the Cultural Revolution, Great Leap Forward and breakdown of government legitimacy during the French Revolution seem more apt.
In its own way, this is as damaging as what is happening at NIH, CDC, USAID, elsewhere. Even tariffs.

It's the Cultural Revolution. Year Zero.

And GOP grins and claps.
NEW — After putting all Institute of Museum & Library Services (IMLS) employees on administrative leave Monday, I'm told DOGE is canceling congressionally-appropriated grants to state libraries across the entire country. Libraries are getting notice that funding was canceled as of 4/1.

Outside of not reelecting Eric Adams, the single most important thing to accomplish next year is ending Andrew Cuomo's public career for good. He must be stopped. He would be disastrous for the city.
