It's not an accident that the most genuinely exciting and meaningful technological developments from the past few decades have not been incorporated into our cultural mythology of what counts as "tech innovation." That mythos is purely reserved for the products coming from Silicon Valley...
I am a luddite and to me there is a lot of joy in technology. In technology that we deploy for all our wellbeing. Solar panels and vaccines, high-speed rail and wikipedia.
But they joy stems from the feeling of being able to be part of humanity in an embedded, meaningful way. Not from buying shit.

Democrats will keep losing by insisting it’s the responsibility of voters, be it on here or in the real world, to have a sports fan knowledge of their legislative record. It is the job of those Democrats to communicate their successes to their constituents, and they largely suck donkey ass at this.
