It was amazing to watch the journalists who built this tool at work. Months and months of painstaking effort, careful reporting behind every decision.

It's the kind of work that ProPublica does best.
NEW: The FDA won’t tell Americans where their generic drugs are made, so ProPublica did it instead.

Use information from your prescription label to locate the factory and see if the plant has a history of inspection violations.

This is like when someone hears you’re from Long Island and asks if you know Bill from Ronkonkoma.
NYT gonna NYT: "Both Mr. Mamdani and Mr. Maduro identify as socialists, though they have no relationship.” — would be funny if they did this every time you write about two capitalists.

i feel this way about CITIZEN KANE, which is a very fun and funny movie
People who think Kurosawa is “homework cinema” need to be slapped around a bit.
so cool that when Kurosawa made Seven Samurai, he was like, "What if a movie absolutely ripped for three-and-a-half hours straight?"

Mayor Mamdani hasn't moved into Gracie Mansion yet and remains in his Astoria apartment for now, his team says. He expects to move at some point before his lease is up Jan. 30.

And how well I recall the resonance of the term "unindicted coconspirator" as it was applied to Richard Nixon by that 1974 grand jury.

Also excellent, to be sure: "expletive deleted."

The term is meant to specify that one is involved in the same conspiracy as another conspirator, as opposed, I guess, to my being in one conspiracy and you in another.

Goddamn this is good, and also a way to fire up the real journalists working, and fighting, to tell the truth.
As it happens, I have experience with high-level government demands to stop an explosive, accurate story from running, and I also have experience with 60 Minutes spiking a story I was involved in, so I have thoughts about the travesty at CBS. If you want some journalism anecdotes, here are a lot:
