(I've decided that I'm allowed to indulge in a bit of praise. Got enough stress in my life what with my basement slab falling into a not-quite sinkhole due, in fact, to climate change.)

And look, from a perspective of craft, it is intensely rewarding that this aspect of the work is appreciated!

extremely important at this time to remember that the only way to affect real change in the political system is to get out and VOTE. so get out there and stuff your ballots anywhere you can fit them. mail boxes, exhaust pipes, manholes, anything

far less than 1% of filers have AGI greater than $1 million, but they represent 15% of total AGI in the state. so five times as much money than the bottom 30% with less than $25k in AGI. this is why a millionaires tax raises so much money: that's where the money is

in virginia 30% of tax filers have adjusted gross income (AGI) of less than $25,000, but those 30% of all filers represent less than 3% of total AGI in the state. 1% of filers have AGI greater than $500,000, but represent 22% of total AGI in the state. tax the rich, because that's where the money is

His name is DAVID EASTERWOOD and he’s not just “reportedly associated,” he’s the Acting Director of the ICE Field Office here.

They want to be badass warrior spies with no mercy, no rules until they face the *tiniest* bit of accountability, then they cry like babies who got their juice box stolen.
VAN SUSTEREN: The church -- that's a particularly troubling issue because you got a pastor, I purposely didn't name it, he's reportedly associated with ICE

NOEM: Thank you for not naming him. People don't realize that when you keep naming someone over and over, you increase the threats against them

there's like maybe 20-30 million americans who suck and over 200 million who are going to be on our side. we all have a role to play, and the american populace is already *keenly* aware of what their role is going to be, and it isnt "loyal footsoldier to the fascist regime"
also like, yeah dawg, the community organisation in minnesota *is* helping europe with the greenland situation. any action at all against the US ruling class is an assist. cheer 'em on

I think the important thing to keep at the forefront is solidarity. We are all opponents of this regime. And it's important not to allow them to divide us in that opposition. Because only together can we beat them.
"will europeans hate us even though we're smol beans who didn't vote for him" feels like a really narcissistic discourse even by our unbelievably highly narcissistic standards

TSA does this as well and it’s been a regular practice for decades I was genuinely shocked the first time I got a case like this as a constituent rep but yeah many of the things we rightfully find shocking now are common practices.

The way to extend your fellowship to conservatives who are seeking an off-ramp is to actually be an alternative

You don’t open your door to them by trying to become them. You do it by remaining yourself and showing them what your values have to offer

almost every consequential decision in the world is made by people following some variation of a "waste (someone else's) billions to steal millions" strategy, it's only through the titanic efforts of people who don't have the brain rot that we're able to have shit like the library or public health
Someday we’ll need to find a way to deal with what an inimical force ‘business leaders’ are. They do not care what happens to anyone if they can make their margins on it. A bunch of ghoulish Littlefingers who need to learn to be more afraid.

every time a community tests ubi or free housing for the homeless the result is always "holy fuck this works incredibly well and costs less than existing solutions!" and then every politician alive does this
