I don't know if this will taste good, but visually, it's the best salmon I've ever cooked.

Tried a homemade garlic, onion, paprika, salt seasoning I made.

I tried Google Calendar, but the fact that I can't copy and paste using ctrl c->ctrl v made it unusable.

Instead it's like 5 steps, and if I click the wrong radio button, I can instead mess up the original event and/or future occurrences.

Bill really gets down to the most critical problems of modern day life: too many people are paying off their mortgages early and hurting the lenders.
Lmfao what an awesome proposal. One reason you need a 90% income tax rate at this level is these guys are too stupid to have the amount of power they do. Like giving a glock to a 4 year old

There's an irreversible dementia that mostly only alcoholics get. Supplementing some alcohol with B1 might prevent it.

It's prohibited bc it "might make people think alcohol is healthy."

But I think it's that it'd help a population that we feel had a moral failing.
They’re opposed to preventative healthcare policy because they believe they’re an intervention in the natural eugenic hierarchy, framing this as an issue of “government overreach” while they’re literally banning healthcare for disfavored groups assists in that effort.
California now requires corn masa flour to contain folic acid to reduce birth defects among Latinos. Public health officials have lauded these efforts, but some conservatives say it’s another form of government overreach.

I like that the bus app is like "you know, it's only 3 miles. You can walk it in an hour."

Which I take to mean that they still haven't fixed the glitches and would just prefer you not even try.

If you have an elderly parent who lives on their own, smart appliances are just awful.

Why is the tv not working?
- Is it the internet down?
- Do you need to install updates?
- Does it need to be unplugged to reboot?

Can they figure out an entire new smart tv when it has to be replaced?

A raccoon gets fried on the transformer. Your electricity goes out mid-FridgeOS update. Your fridge is bricked.

Will it still work as a fridge? Is there a manual control for the settings or is it all tablet controlled?

I live in Austin. The tech industry is shrinking. People are moving back to California. I believe Google, Facebook, and Indeed skyscrapers are mostly empty.

I wonder how much is that they can't make a buck off of it.

No special equipment to sell you. Either the gym has one or not. Apparel doesn't make a difference like with running. Not so much technique either.
Fitness gurus are always knocking cardio. Well, the elliptical is super effectively for weight loss. It’s low impact so you can do it for long time periods, every day. I can burn 800-1000 calories in an hour. I can do it daily. I lost 100 lbs once doing nothing but that damned boring elliptical.

Every guy, ages 14-24, tries to be a fedora guy. I think you need to be over 50 with some gray to pull it off.
I love that Shaq is on tv dressed as Santa’s bookie for Christmas.

Jfc. "Such editorial decisions can cause a firestorm, particularly on a slow news week."

The implication that the only reason people care is bc it was a slow news day. Even if we ever get back to "normal," people like her will never face consequences.
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

When my dad went on Medicare, his healthcare changed. Some got better, some got worse. Medicare guaranteed reimbursement rates are a huge incentive.

HOWEVER, switching to a Medicare Advantage caused a huge decline. Once private insurance got involved, it became much worse.
For all Universal HC/Single Payer/M4A advocates.

What do the biggest, expensive hospital chains do. Do they opt out and only serve the rich ?

Who in the USA gov runs the program?

R U ok with having to see a primary care doc before you can see a specialist ?

RFK: Babies don't need hep b vaccines. People have always had babies before the vaccine.

Altman: I need ChatGPT to raise my baby.

Both have extreme influence on the US government and its finances.
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

One of my far left opinions is the stock market being more accessible to everyone accelerated and expanded this.

People are more detached from their income and morality doesn't even play into it. People focus on speculation instead of work or a product.
One of my most conservative-coded opinions is that one of the reasons we're in this mess is because of the profound decadence, solipsism, moral rot, and general lack of personal virtue afflicting much of the upper PMC / bourgeoisie.
