This is several days old. But amidst so much else id missed it. That’s a stunning number. No wonder they about-faced. Reminder of the power of consumers in oligarch era, not subject to the same kind of targeting.

I don't think it's overstating it to say that AI-generated podcasts are the enemy of humanity.

My buddy who's a HS Physics teacher said that one of his students asked him why it's called a hallucination when AI does it but it's a wrong answer on a test if a student does it and yeah

RFK Jr. rolled out that old chestnut again about how healthy Americans were in the 60’s, so here’s a fact check.

In 1965:

-42% of American adults smoked; it’s 11% now.

-The infant morality rate was 24.7/1000; it’s 5.6/1000 now.

-Overall life expectancy was 70 years; it's about 77 years now.

“But I am a hater, and I will not be polite. The machine is disgusting and we should break it. The people who build it are vapid shit-eating cannibals glorifying ignorance. I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself.”

I am an AI hater. This is considered rude, but I do not care, because I am a hater.

Read the thread, written between fitful bursts of ineffectual anger at a delayed flight, then go back and listen to the podcast, which is an exceptionally well-made deep dive into an evergreen and fundamental area of constitutional law.
/13 If you would like to know more about these First Amendment subjects, I’m pretty proud of this deep dive podcast series “Make No Law,” though it eventually proved too stressful to continue:

“The AI in the study probably prompted doctors to become over-reliant on its recommendations, ‘leading to clinicians becoming less motivated, less focused, and less responsible when making cognitive decisions without AI assistance,’ the scientists said in the paper.”

Artificial intelligence, touted for its potential to transform medicine, led to some doctors losing skills after just a few months in a new study.

I reluctantly got one recently as it is, unfortunately, an easier way than cash to repay millennial/zoomer friends without getting weird looks, but as a budding consumer attorney I want to kill it with fire and mandate free interbank transfers like a civilized society
Venmo is low key one of the most insane products ever because if my bank ever publicized my wires I would immediately sue the fuck out of them but NCAA athletes are routinely posting public transfers with descriptions like “Covered the spread!”

NEW: In a likely first, security researchers have shown how generative AI agents can be hijacked to cause physical consequences.

They tricked Google's Gemini AI into turning off smart home lights, opening windows, and turning on a boiler.

They hid instructions to the AI in a *calendar invitation*
Hackers Hijacked Google’s Gemini AI With a Poisoned Calendar Invite to Take Over a Smart Home
For likely the first time ever, security researchers have shown how AI can be hacked to create real world havoc, allowing them to turn off lights, open smart shutters, and more.

I don't say this lightly: The New York Times should fire the reporter and editor who chose to present a leak from the white house as if it was a leak from Harvard.

Don't print lies in the newspaper
Important details from this story:

1) Yet another news-break by student journalists (this time @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social) www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...

2) Harvard saying "see you in court," not "let's make a deal."

3) Per Garber, WH/MAGA leaked news of a "deal." NYT then ran with it.
