Democrats were never going to win the shutdown fight
Yes, polls showed more people blaming Trump. But on their substantive demands, the party was drawing dead.

Regular reminder that Axios stories saying Dems are about to cave are likely sourced from GOP staffers trying to make it happen.
Doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. But it's like those NYT stories that Harvard is considering caving (they haven't). The anonymous source was trying to manifest it.

Justice KBJ is a brilliant strategist. She is working the rules to compel timely review of the stay in the SNAP case by both the Circuit Court and by the Supreme Court. This is why knowing which SCOTUS justice has supervision of the Circuit you file in is essential.

Ryan thinks I’m insane for saying Democrats should avoid the having an albatross like Robert Byrd in their caucus again.
Now please excuse him as he tries to remain in the good graces of the Nazi Smart Refrigerator he’s chatting with.

If this is a serious question, I wanted to see how it handled US v Soviet history. The result was worse than I had even expected. I decided not to block it because I assume that would nuke me in the algorithm.

Sandwich verdict wasn’t jury nullification. It was failure to prove the required “reasonable fear of physical injury” in a case where the agent was wearing A BULLETPROOF VEST. The only crime was the waste of resources on this case. My thoughts in @MSNBCDaily.

Opinion | The sandwich thrower was wrong. But Jeanine Pirro was, too.
To establish a forcible assault, jurors were required to find that Dunn caused “reasonable apprehension of immediate bodily harm.” That allegation was laughable.

This is a strange hack punditry, in which everything anyone does is the Democratic Party's fault. Dems' mistakes are their fault. Repubs' mistakes are the Dems' fault for not stopping them.
No party is perfect. But we should examine their actual actions. You can't learn anything from this punditry.

MSNBC: Where's the urgency to end this shutdown in Washington?
JEFFRIES: That's a great question. It should be asked of Mike Johnson. Where's the urgency in actually bringing the House back into session? They have canceled votes for the last 6 weeks.
