Retired solid state physicist. I specialized in simulating nanoscale devices.

Proud Canadian.
He gives me a creepy Willem Dafoe in Wild At Heart vibe.

The Trump administration is taking their inspiration from this old magazine cover.

There's virtually no substance here: "And now A.I. is on its way to doing something even more remarkable: becoming conscious. This will happen in the same way it became intelligent."

That's it. I'm reminded of this famous cartoon.

The 2D nature of space battles was really a result of how practical special effects were done back then, with ship models being held up by stands. Fancy 3D manoeuvres were basically impossible to film at the time.

This was Shor back in June, praising Mamdani for campaigning on the cost of living issues that Shor's research indicated was the key to winning. Shor has long been crusading for all Democrats to adopt this campaign strategy. Shor's outfit, Blue Rose Research, even did ad testing for Mamdani.

The ADL is pretty much aligning with the far-right now. What they've done to their website is illustrative. No more advocacy of general civil rights. 1000 terms deleted from their Glossary of Extremism and Hate.

Doing a David Shor Mamdani search on X shows this fascinating result from today.

They've apparently been working together through Shor's Blue Rose Research.

He faced reality at last, though a bit late. Anything less than this would have been completely unacceptable.

He has to figure out what he is and what country that he actually represents. A US Senator, or the Israeli ambassador. Mamdani's victory is a decisive statement against the pro-Israel lobby. Mindless Bibi support is now a serious liability for all Democrats. Schumer needs to wake the fuck up.

Schumer needs to figure out which country that he actually represents as a Senator. He seems to think that his real job is Israeli ambassador.

Bigotry and oppression is fine, as long as it isn't directed at us, it seems.

Meanwhile, the ADL has altered their website purging more than 1,000 other entries making up its Glossary of Extremism and Hate.

I can't help but think that sketchy things might be going on behind the scenes. This person resigned from Platner campaign today. The note is vague because he had signed a nondisclosure agreement (that in itself is a red flag, even without the resignation).

The ADL is literally siding with fascists now. They purged more than 1,000 other entries making up its Glossary of Extremism and Hate to appease Kash Patel.

As is quite common with the Physics Nobel Prize, the 2025 award was handed out for work done quite some time ago, but whose impact is now being recognized.
