On the north shore of Lake Erie there's a gigantic greenhouse lit with a warm red glow.

It shines bright enough you can detect it from the Ohio side of the lake as a red beam that lights low clouds.

I know this because daily someone posts it to Ohio aurora watching groups, thinking it's the lights

Apex predator of the Statenville boat ramp #birds
Little blue heron hunting, facing right. Despite the name, every feather on this bird is white. In the photo her snakelike neck and head head are held low and generally horizontally, and lower than her body, as if she is about to attack some small doomed thing on the ground. Her eye is yellow and her legs are faint yellow-green. The foreground and background are composed of soft dark brown ground, and the heron’s bright body contrasts nicely with it.

A Black Skimmer, standing at the edge of a lagoon in Santa Barbara. This water bird has a longer lower bill than upper, orange/red close to the face, black towards the end. The lower is skimmed in the water as they fly low over. Orange/red legs too, black back and white underparts and throat. Black head, from just below the eyeline - white under that.
