That intense, reflexive self-blame trauma survivors experience whenever anything in our vicinity goes wrong is not about having a "guilty conscience"-- it's a PTSD symptom. But framing it as a "guilty conscience" sign is a gaslighting tool abusers & bullies just love to pull out.
