OMG look at all those islets.
In the pre Christmas corset madness it looks like I forgot to post pics of this when I finished it. #Shetland navigation chart #screenprinting on calico fabric then painted a bit and sewn a lot. The coastline of Shetland was particularly tiresome, but worth it in the end!

Passing Alley is a narrow cut-through at Clerkenwell between St. John Street to St. John's Lane. It was moved during the late 19thC when the area was redeveloped. Until at least the middle of the 18thC, in its earlier position, it was named in maps as Pissing Alley.

The Salmon & Ball at Bethnal Green was originally established as a pub in 1733 when the area was populated by silk weavers. It was the site of a hanging in 1769 of two weavers accused of involvement in forming a trade union.

In 1927 the General Post Office opened an underground railway between Paddington and Whitechapel, with 6 stations. A fleet of driverless trains carried letters and parcels below the congested streets. It operated for 76 years and closed in 2003. @PostalMuseum
