Born in Trinidad, Dr. John Alcindor earned his MD in Scotland in 1899 & was a physician, political activist, & senior district medical officer in London. He was awarded a Red Cross medal for his work treating the wounded in WWI. His great-nephew is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Great replacement theory has mutated. It isn’t just about Black and Latino people replacing White people. It’s about “criminals” replacing the “good people.” Trump routinely casts Latinos—migrating or not—as essentially drug traffickers (the language some European politicos put on African migrants).

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

I’ve seen a million media stories about how sad Republican voters in CA are about losing their Republican representatives.

But I don’t think I’ve seen a single one talking about Demoratic voters in Texas, or North Carolina, or Missouri losing their representatives.

#tdih 1972 Roberto Clemente died in plane crash. 💔

He flew at great risk (only as a last resort) with supplies for earthquake devastated Nicaraguans.

If Nixon had aided Nicaraguan people, instead of dictator Somoza, after quake, Clemente may not have felt compelled to board that plane.
