You’d need to reinstate Radio 4 Longwave in order to cover all the councils with alternate week collections in different parts of the borough.
‘SE7, dry recycling only, becoming non-recyclable waste later.’
A radio programme like the Shipping Forecast but it’s called Bin Day and it just reads out every single council in the country’s bin schedule

What I really take from this story is that MOU Operations Ltd should really have insisted on…an MOU.

I initially read this post as though ‘Friends of Robbie Gibb’ was a formally constituted organisation, like ‘Labour Friends of Kosovo & the Western Balkans’. And that would be a fascinating set up.
"Friends of Robbie Gibb" told Nick Robinson that, while he thought there was a problem, he hdidn't see why Tim Davie had to resign. Which raises the amusing possibility that Davie literally just couldn't be fucked doing a job that required him to Robbie fucking Gibb all the time.

Nick Robinson closed the Today programme emphasising that the BBC Board is *still* fighting over the wording of a statement over the Panorama programme.
it is very strange that BBC chair Samir Shah is hiding this morning. He should by rights be on the Today programme presenting himself as in charge and hands on the tiller. I wonder if he is frightened for his position

Has anyone done a study as to whether pigeons gentrify alongside the parts of London they live in? Take this very polished chap outside Woolwich Crossrail station. You’d never have seen a pigeon that refined-looking in Woolwich a decade ago.

I'm sure JD Vance, who was so strongly and publicly critical of an alleged 'prayer ban' outside British abortion clinics, will be all over this like a rash. blockclubchicago.org/2025/11/07/f...

I agree with much of this piece but it is an awkward truth that the politician who has been most effective at activating low-propensity voters is…Trump. When he said the GOP’s problem this week is that he wasn’t on the ballot, that (unusually) wasn’t a total lie. www.theguardian.com/us-news/comm...

Excellent night at Kiln Theatre at a preview of a new musical my wife has produced - ‘Coven’: a whipsmart, funny, moving, beautifully designed retelling of the Pendle witch trials. Contains Heinrich Kramer as you’ve never seen him before. Definitely worth seeing, though it’s sold out until December!

In Icelandic we have 'Ókind' for monster. But the translation is un-sheep. So everything not a sheep is dangerous.
