Some important points about universal healthcare that are separate from the fact that it would be free:

1) it would incentivize preventative care, so fewer people would have long-term or chronic health issues, and fewer people would need emergency services.
Trump threatened using the Insurrection Act against California and tried sending the National Guard into LA. He was sued and lost, troops had to leave. We must stand firm and continue to fight against his crazy attempts. He's weak.

The one thing authoritarian leaders usually have going for them is the general apathy of the majority when they make a move solely against a marginal group in society.

But when they occupy an entire city with clumsy, brutal force, that just forces everyone out of that apathy.
This dude is intense and correct

Near Lyndale and 24th Ave in Minneapolis tonight, feds have reportedly shot another person.

Preliminary info is shaky for now, hearing two people injured.

BORTAC just rolled up in an armored vehicle. A crowd is gathering outside the police tape—MPD presence as well.

AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.

I'm not reading dem electeds' tweets like tea leaves and I don't suggest it as a hobby for anyone really.

If they want to be unequivocal about something they are perfectly capable of doing so. Anything short of that is irrelevant to me.

For those keeping score, Bellingcat, The New York Times Visual Investigation Team, & Washington Post's Visual Forensic team have all published analysis showing the ICE shooter wasn't in the path of Renee Nicole Good’s vehicle when he shot her, contradicting statements by the President & his cronies

A reminder — Democratic senators allowed the criminal abomination Kristi Noem to be elevated as head of DHS; Noem was approved 59-34:

Fetterman (PA)
Hassan (NH)
Kaine (VA)
Kim (NJ)
Peters (MI)
Shaheen (NH)
Slotkin (MI)

They should be asked if they regret their vote.

So we’re just announcing foreign strikes and kidnappings of foreign leaders on social media now? No Congress. No explanation.

This is madness.

How we beat back the corporate takeover of America:

1. Break up corporate monopolies
2. Continue building union power
3. End Citizens United and get big money out of politics

Let’s keep working to unrig the system.

I say his gently, but…

There’s something unspeakably shameful The United States letting people go hungry.

Not because its government doesn’t fix it —

but because tomorrow a few private Americans could, and never notice the cost.

That’s the part that sits wrong.

I remember all the work that went into just getting the ACA over the finish line - exactly 60 votes in Senate, so they had to make lots of compromises. In 16 years since the Republicans have just complained without offering anything meaningful. Anything they come up with has not been viable.
