You hear lots of complaints about Musk & X, but nobody talks about Big Penguin's social-media shadowbanning.

My neighbor has been on a 5-year squirrel eradication mission (he traps them, puts them in his car, and drives them to the lake). His children and the other neighborhood children are outraged, all of a sudden. There are signs. They picketed his front yard this weekend.

I didn’t want to mention this on National Bird Day, but ever since I started posting about the #PenguinNorthPoleInvasion, Big Penguin has been trying to silence me and limit my reach on social media. 📱🐧🇦🇶

So, what I get from this is that squirrels believe other squirrels should be placed in a centrifuge, @orodentia.bsky.social @ratatosk.bsky.social ...
This wheel is to the boy squirrel the way that the football is to Charlie Brown and it still makes me laugh every time he tries to use it only to be immediately spun.

Globus was a small rotating globe, approximately five inches wide, displaying the spacecraft's current and projected position above Earth. Instead of digital systems, it operated through a complex network of gears, cams, and mechanical differentials that converted orbital data into globe motion.

I wish I had Plato’s literary agent. His royalties from the Penguin editions of his dialogues alone must make him a very wealthy man.

He could probably afford to buy a country.

thinking of USAID

children denied food and medicine
If the DEA had killed 80 innocent Americans in the course of apprehending one drug dealer, there would be riots. But we are so ghoulishly indifferent to the lives and humanity of people abroad that it's barely even part of the conversation.
A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.

The Monroe Doctrine is from an era of open, brazen colonialism. It’s as much a basis of justification today for an invasion as the Treaty of Tordesillas and Pope Alexander VI’s magic line for the Americas. 🌎

But I do think that there is value in acknowledging that between how the US handled Manuel Noriega (1990), Alvarez-Machain (1992), & nearly 150 years of Monroe Doctrine western hemisphere meddling prior that our empire had already legalized this kind of international kidnapping well before Trump

sorely-missed voice of reason John Paul Stevens in dissent:

"If the United States... thought it more expedient to
torture or simply to execute a person rather than to attempt
extradition, these options would be equally available because
they, too, were not explicitly prohibited by the Treaty."

per binding SCOTUS precedent the U.S. has jurisdiction to try foreign defendants on federal charges after intentionally kidnapping, drugging, and TORTURING them so long as their country does not have a treaty with us which specifically prohibits us from doing those things.

Very legal, very cool!
January 3, 2026 at 6:03 PM
Who else can Trump just decide to attack and then kidnap without any legal authority to do so?

What other country or leader will Trump unilaterally decide to attack with Congress’s OK?

1. Headlines everywhere today read "Grok apologizes."

This is bullshit. A chatbot is not something that can apologize.

Pretending otherwise is simple laundering these companies' bullshit about what AI is, while diffusing blame away from the human beings that developed and released this system.
