It’s always important to protest by doing so in exactly the way the powerful people want you to do so.

This is how you disrupt.
Republican on CNN: You peacefully protest with a letter to the editor. You peacefully protest by starting a Substack or a podcast.

over the course of 1871, congress held seven months of hearings on ku klux klan and other white vigilante violence in the south, they took detailed testimony from hundreds of black men and women attesting to klan terror. (1/?)

The class action lawsuits will continue until morale improves and our dipshit robber barons are driven into penury (which will also improve morale).
GenAI companies keep claiming the books and copyrighted works their programed were "trained" on without permission didn't retain complete copies in their systems. This was a lie.

These companies may now face for even more liability for violating copyrights. 1/

Calls for civility are often weaponized by abusers, by bigots, by those who would oppress you. If it is considered impolite to speak out against dishonor, then it is time for a true warrior to be rude.

It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face.

If Congress actually cared about what it's seeing, it could pass that overnight.

don't think people are really comprehending the national scale of education underinvestment. it's like if we went through WW2 rationing and then never stopped after the war was over. "oh you guys got used to not having nylons and gasoline and butter. so we don't need to give it back to you, ever"

once again: ICE is operating as if they have a general warrant, the specific type of warrant the founders were most concerned about when drafting the 4th Amendment
Not remotely legal. Minnesota needs to arrest these thugs breaking down doors right now, before they start grabbing even more power

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

And now, to distract you from the state of the world, here's a comic preview page of Lex Luthor fighting a bear for no reason.

The ICE agent who murdered Renee Good must be prosecuted for murder. He enjoys no immunity from state murder charges.
Then, Blue state governors must call up their National Guard to protect us from the armed ICE terrorists.

I'm a terrorism scholar and this is exactly what we warn about when we say terrorism functions as a shibboleth, a password, a magic word which unlocks unprecedented state power and in turn excuses any state action.
Kristi Noem calling the victim’s actions “domestic terrorism” is propaganda. Full stop. I served as a White House homeland security advisor. I know what that designation means & when it’s misused. A U.S. citizen is dead. She was a mom. This is what ICE impunity looks like. It cannot be normalized.
This Was Inevitable. And It Is Unforgivable. ICE Owns This.
A warning ignored. A life lost. This cannot become routine.

Dems: get up out of your fucking defensive crouch and fight back, it still makes a difference in the coverage

as I was saying earlier today, if all you can really do is yell, the quality of the yelling has to be better

it was today, and it’s helped

keep calling these people what they are
There's honestly been some pretty good news coverage tonight on TV regarding today's events. It's not a coincidence.

Like half a dozen prominent Democrats finally came out this afternoon and said ICE is terrorist trash led by a secretary who should be impeached and it flipped the whole narrative.

Remember: Federal officials do not enjoy categorical, absolute immunity from state-level prosecutions. They are entitled to removal to federal court. But conduct that is unreasonable or unnecessary for the execution of their law enforcement duties is susceptible to criminal prosecution.
