I agree with @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social we're going to win this battle. I always thought that. But I think the struggle is always ongoing and I wish we didn't have to watch these confused hateful people pointlessly destroy so many resources we need for people to thrive. People deserve to thrive.

Quite. So many Labour people on this website visibly have no idea of just how bad things have got for ethnic minorities since they came on, and how their visible indifference lands.
Also frankly I am quite desperate! A party that’s at best ambivalent on the question of whether I’m English and wants to deport my friends is 9 points ahead in the polls and the current leader is floundering and visibly out of his depth!

I went to see Cabaret in London today and we could hear the chanting from outside during the quiet parts of Tomorrow Belongs to Me.
Then I left the theatre and walked straight into people draped in English flags doing the Nazi salute.

The response to Charlie Kirk's death has made me think of when Judith Butler talked about the radically unequal distribution of grievability in our societies, where some lives are more worthy of grieving, some losses more widely felt.
