#MinsGame Day 16:
5 delicates laundry bags unused since we got guppybags, black plastic laundry balls (bad), reusable bag, 2 glass containers, Marie Kondo manga book, set of blackout curtains, tiny plastic box.
Decluttering a decluttering book feels weirdly recursive.

you don’t get to indulge in whataboutism as an excuse to not do anything.

stop insisting COVID-aware folk want you to shut down the world. we’re asking you to open it up—for everyone.

so be a big boy/girl: wear a mask, and it you want to help disabled people, take a cue from the late alice wong:

#MinsGame Day 15:
Four very worn out oven mitts, 3 soaps we can't use, makeup sponge, pair of toothbrushes used for cleaning, 5 plant pots w/dead plants.

The windowsill is barer now. I'll try again with plants requiring lower light as it's a north window.

6 packets expired supplements, 2 DVDs, expired adhesive masks c. 2022, rubber mat waffle weave thing put under rugs but I don't trust on bare floor, expired mints, CD case.

Important study by @jonastrepel.bsky.social on the importance of large #herbivores for plant diversity - creative empirical work from South Africa; big thx Jonas for leading this @econovoau.bsky.social effort 🐘🌸🦓☘️ #savanna #forbs #megafauna
higher herbivory intensity in South African savannas increases herbaceous plant richness and functional redundancy. Effects were largely consistent across scales, but strongest at the landscape level, highlighting large herbivores’ role in promoting diversity and ecosystem resilience (2/3)

"Scientists Just Developed A Blood Test That Can Diagnose Chronic Fatigue And Long Covid."

🔹Blood test detected CFS with 92% accuracy.

🔹CFS and long COVID overlap means it may lead to a long COVID test.

🔹Unclear exactly when either test might be available.

Holy shit, just learned about the typewriter art of Montserrat Alberich Escardívol, a Catalan typist. Using an extra wide typewriter and 180 color ribbons, she built up elaborate images from simple characters like 'm' and '.' and ';'. Here is her typewritten painting of the Cathedral of Barcelona.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

A #BlueskyLullaby for tonight: To mark the anniversary of the wreck of the 'Edmund Fitzgerald' on Lake Superior (November 10, 1975), here's Gordon Lightfoot's famous song about it—as covered even more hauntingly by the Punch Brothers, including Chris Thile singing and on mandolin. See you around.
