So former night auditor here. Booking is a scam and a hassle on both ends. They only list the base rate of the hotel, don’t disclose, parking fees, holds, or other fees. They also don’t get any selected preferences bc with Hiltons system I know for sure it cut off whatever was selected
I stopped using Booking-dot-com to plan my hotel stays because their listings never specified in advance which hotels charged deposit fees
I truly hate the hotel deposit fee. Why are you asking me for an extra $50-100/night? You have my card on file. Either send me a bill for the damages if I occur any, or put the fee into the price of the original booking. I paid $500 for the room and you want to hold $200 as well? 😭

The collected tariff money is going straight into the corrupt leaders' pockets, just like the SNAP money is somehow "short".
