I do want to shout-out my fellow sociologists, who have collectively created a discipline so woke that not a single one of our introductory textbooks can make it past Florida's censors.

Great work everyone.

1. This 2016 exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and Peter Thiel is so essential, really gets to the heart of Epstein's project.
Epstein: brexit, just the beginning.
Thiel: Of what?
Epstein: return to tribalism... finding things on their way to collapse , was much easier than finding the next bargain

I just saw a link that said there’a a Bridgerton ice cream flavor. Does that mean there’s going to be a Saltburn flavor?

I’m begging folks to understand that not everything Dems do is because they’re weak/craven/evil/hate Americans. Everything that happens in Congress is part of a negotiation.

Hey sociology lovers! After losing our program to Hurricane Katrina and a 20-year hiatus, Tulane University is re-launching its PhD in sociology! If you'd like to learn more, please reach out at lwade3@tulane.edu. I'd be happy to chat to prospective students or faculty who might send some our way.

America has deindustrialized so much they can't even manufacture consent
I still can't believe they're trying to make a war happen out of thin air. Not just their abrogation of Congress's role in formally declaring a war -- that's been a slippery slope for decades -- but their total unwillingness even to go through the motions of drumming up public support.

Wow, it’s almost as if a top-down pivot to video resonated with people who need lots of stimulation, and providing constant streams of it is popular!

RIP text.
YouTube is not only widely used, but it’s also the platform the most teens visit on a daily basis. Roughly three-quarters of teens say they use it every day.

That "millennial white men couldn't get good jobs in media/Hollywood/academia because of DEI" article is wild bc in some ways it's *so* close to identifying the actual problem, which is the complete destruction of job security and mid-level "good jobs" across all industries, for EVERYONE, since 2009
