The Statue of Liberty is kaput.
Trump, in the middle of his latest unhinged Truth Social screed, claims that if Canada makes a trade deal with China, "the first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup."

A field of sugar cane. Come on!
At the start of his Super Bowl performance, Bad Bunny appeared in a field of green grass wearing a jersey featuring the number “64.” Fans immediately started tossing out theories about what the number meant.
What Was the ‘Ocasio 64’ Reference on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Look?
And where did his suit come from? The answers may surprise.

As much as I loath him, I also recognize that this is the schtick that makes him popular
Trump: "Mike Johnson is a very religious person. He does not hide it. He'll say to me sometimes at lunch, 'Sir, may we pray.' I'll say, 'Excuse me? We're having lunch.'"

News I’m somewhat late to but apparently the Indian Navy built a ship based on a fifth century painting and sailed it to Oman to recreate the trading route of the Indian Ocean in late antiquity.

INSV Kaundinya: Hand-stitched Indian ship arrives in Oman - BBC News
The ship, which has no engine and moves under square sails, retraced the ancient route in 17 days.

One Department of Homeland Security document says a 29-year-old resident of Portland "is the leader of Antifa":

The question should be “Mr. Speaker, were you legitimately elected in 2020? Do you know of any members of congress who specifically were not legitimately elected?”

These guys run every 2 years, and are involved in many many elections. He should be able to be very specific about “irregularities”
WELKER: Is it healthy for democracy for POTUS to be questioning the 2020 election 5 years later with false claims?

JOHNSON: What's healthy i to be focused on election integrity

W: But that's not 'election integrity.' He's still talking about an election he lost

J: There was a lot of irregularity

If only computers had built in clocks in order to tell time using some sort of deterministic machine-readable format.

But alas, the only way to know whether it's daytime is to pay nearly a dollar every 30 minutes to ask a fancy autocomplete bot.
I’m starting to think the people who are excited about “AI agents” have literally never used a computer in their lives

If this is the same Peter Attia MD who was just revealed as one of Bari Weiss's big new additions to CBS News, he can just tell the stories about the "outrageous" life Jeffrey Epstein led on the Evening News.

Think of the ratings!
And Peter Attia MD telling Epstein the biggest problem with being his friend is he can’t tell anyone about the life he lives. Nice.

I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

How are people missing the fact that “abolish ICE” and “undo DHS” are, at the minimum and most optimistic, things that could happen after the midterms (if dems get a huge landslide victory), or after 2028 (assuming same landslide), but fundamentally not now over the government shutdown…

Yeah, body cameras don't matter a damn unless you have Jonathan Ross and Alex Pretti's murderers sitting in front of a jury visibly shaking in fear of a life sentence.

Right now, ICE is just gonna destroy that footage if mildly inconvenient.
Friends, I recommend you ALL get on the phones and or send emails first thing tomorrow telling @democrats.senate.gov NO FUNDING FOR ICE. NONE.

They are, per Chris Coons, planning to negotiate body cameras. This willl not change the violence, the invasions of our cities.

This government needs to discuss Cuba policy urgently because it could blow up very badly for everybody if Trump and Rubio successfully choke off all the Venezuelan oil. Rubio could be the dog that finally caught the car -- and he has no plan for what to do the day after. 1/
Cuba is the ultimate manifestation of the Pottery Barn Rule. If they destabilize the govt & can’t rebuild the economy quickly, then they will face a tsunami of migration that will make the MASSIVE 1980 Mariel Boatlift look like a picnic. Rubio’s dream is Miller’s greatest nightmare. This is no joke!
