Actually 1000? Wow.

This is low even for the newsletter of the anti corn law league. You guys are straight up dirt bags.

And right, I think I still use Google as shorthand. Google is broken compared to the past. That’s why I said one has to sift…

And if you are looking for citations, sources, etc, you are much much better off w Wikipedia’s “further reading” than with LLM recommendations, which are a total mess in my experience.

Interesting framing here, but to me you can control some of the variables he’s talking about. For example, generally for things I know well, Wikipedia is significantly more accurate than a chat gpt summary of the same topic, which is often error riddled.
November 29, 2025 at 3:22 PM
Isn’t the problem here the wild inaccuracies produced by all the publicly available LLMs? Asking chat gpt is different than googling something. Both require good judgment to sift information, but only one will make something up and confidently present it as accurate…

I think maybe there’s another level of questions here… 19000+ studies submitted (to the conference I think). Are these like poster sessions and papers? 75000+ peer reviews… are these reviews of the 19000 “studies”? Are the “studies” also 1/5 AI generated? That would be an even bigger problem!

Thanks for asking. Would be interesting to hear from Tulsky…

I dunno, man, I think you’ve got to do some work to justify a take like this.

All that is true, but I also understand the worry. This team has a patchy track record for developing prospects and a number of notable incidents of poor relationship management dating back to at least the cup year. One can worry and also be happy we are in first place.
November 23, 2025 at 2:28 PM
That’s right. I mean there are plenty of kind and supportive people out there, but a lot of people get predictably jealous of other people’s unusual ideas and unique models of success.
November 23, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Dude. That’s really a problem. I’m going to use your blog in the military history class they are asking me to teach. You are the definition of a successful public facing historian. It’s ridiculous academia can’t even half get the meritocracy right.
November 23, 2025 at 4:13 AM
So they aren’t letting you teach upper level classes at all?
November 23, 2025 at 2:13 AM
The problem is relationship management. I feel like the Canes screwed up with Necas. RBA has totally screwed up JKk. Screwing up Nikishin would be a real bad move. You can’t always pound square pegs into round holes. Either figure out what to do with them or trade them before you fuck up the asset.
November 22, 2025 at 4:58 PM
Someone’s got to as RBA why he scratched Nikishin

No doubt he’s uneducated. I just wonder if he’s in fact one of these “modern medicine is stopping evolution” people or if he’s actually dumber and just into Musk-style chainsaw antics.
November 21, 2025 at 3:32 PM
Is this DOGE kid even bright enough to have these nefarious ideas?
November 21, 2025 at 2:56 PM
I dunno. Lots of other reasons too, and I’m not sure this one is obviously prominent. Fascism is older than climate change.

Trump thinks Mandami and and the “national security moms” are the same thing. Maybe there’s a lesson here…
