Introduction post!
I'm Prower, probably wherever you have a local one. I am disabled since 2014 with ME/CFS, and in between dealing with that I fill my time with crafts, raising my kid, petting my dogs, and video games when my cognition allows.

Remember that it’s never too late to start taking Covid precautions.

Every infection delayed or prevented is a win for your long term health.

Get vaccinated. Clean and ventilate the air. Stay home when you’re sick.

Wear a well fitted respirator like an N95.

Masks save lives!
A very Happy New Year to you all. If you're still mitigating against infection from SARS-CoV-2 you have nothing but my respect and admiration. Wishing each and every one of you a wonderful 2026.

—being told disabled people are “wrong”, fear us. Yes, even you, resist libs, even you, leftist bastions of liberation. Because you won’t stop to consider that what you were told is wrong.

Because it’s icky.

Because it reminds you of bad times.

That’s at its core all this is.

Here's a really easy New Year's Resolution:
If you're sick with something contagious, you will stay home if your circumstances allow.

If you can't stay home, you will mask around others until there is no possibility you are contagious.

By making these choices, you will literally save lives.

If @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social wants to make it up to the community he's offended, one way to do that would be to do an entire episode on long Covid. An estimated ~44-48 million in the U.S. have now experienced it

The Current and Future Burden of Long COVID in the United States - PubMed
The current health and economic burden of long COVID may already exceed that of a number of other chronic diseases and will continue to grow each year as COVID-19 cases increase. This could be a significant drain on businesses, third-party payers, the healthcare system, and society.

Australian researchers have made a trial COVID vaccine that stops COVID infection and transmission, rather than just reduce the damage done by an infection:

This could be life-changing for many - including me.

The thing that’s particularly galling about this is that most disabled people I know have given up getting anyone outside of us to mask. We mask ourselves and try to get on with our lives, and y’all still can’t keep our fucking names out of your mouths. Just running through there rent fucking free
Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

Family member: (summarized) "I feel like you are mean to me on purpose and you flaunt your money but please bring me on your next trip and also I think you were mean before but you got worse when you got disabled"

I just feel like those are things you can't un-say, you know?

Not only is he confusing measles and chickenpox… he’s also pushing a eugenics agenda.

He’s claiming if you die from measles it’s because you’re “already sick”.

First, that’s not true. Many healthy children died from measles.

Second, sick people deserve protection too.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have shown Alzheimer’s disease can be REVERSED- not just prevented. Using a potent neuroprotective compound called P7C3-A20, they found RESTORING balance to a central cellular energy molecule (NAD+) not only PREVENTED disease features but REVERSED them, EVEN at late stages.

It was reprehensible when people mocked condom usage at the height of the AIDS pandemic.

It is just as depraved to mock those wearing masks to reduce the spread of airborne viruses today.

Whenever someone takes any kind of step to protect public health, they should be applauded, not mocked.

like really? your brain can't comprehend why the less callous half of the population would like to physically protect themselves against the more callous half's choices?

I don’t know what’s worse - that dumb idea or the local nurse telling us that an N95 “just circulates CO2” so we shouldn’t trust a pulse-oximeter reading taken when masked.

Like so what is it - a chain link fence or impermeable fabric

These kids will live with chronic illness the rest of their lives because society refused to adapt.

SARS-CoV-2 is so dangerous precisely because of its insidious nature. Its propensity to continually re-infect. The superficial similarity of the symptoms it causes to those of other common viruses. The unseen risk of sequelae. That wretched molecular shark tricks almost everyone.
