I'm here to ensure:

- everyone has their needs met
- everyone has bodily autonomy
- consent is respected in all things

I'm here to end:

- capitalism
- non-consensual hierarchies

I'm doing so via:

- mutual aid
- consent education
- sharing knowledge/skills
- automating the means of production
Be unabashedly cringe about spreading values that support human rights

It sucks how the world generally forces unwaged disabled people into the shittiest and oldest available houses. It *literally* needs to be the other way around, lol. Even something as basic as cleaning a counter becomes so much easier when you live in a newly built, moderately resourced apartment...

Brisbane friends, today's a good day to go to Bunnings Newstead.

The excellent queer-friendly Brisbane Makerspace (https://brisbanemaker.space) is running the sausage sizzle today as a fundraiser.

There's lovely people running that who'd no doubt love to talk nerdy things between serving snags 🙂

American friends, you should start giving meshtastic a bit of thought for community organizing comms use over the next few years - even if for Plan B. You might need it.

Just read this lovely poem by Jenny Johnson: "Queer Trivia Night"

Which is fitting, as tonight I play online trivia with other queers 😊

Shout out to any other nerds still playing Isolation Trivia in '26 🧠🫡

"The purpose of a system is what it does."

Forcing adults to identify themselves to use the internet ✅

Silencing whistleblowers and chilling dissent ✅

Harming people from "undesirable" minority groups ✅

"Won't somebody think of the children" works so well for bigoted authoritarians. #AusPol
The first reports of the harms of the social media ban is having on vulnerable kids are out. This is what happens when policy is designed without listening to experts, not tackling the problem of harmful algorithms and business practices and just banning people from accessing parts of the internet.

As of right now folks dealing with bushfires/recovery can have their Centrelink payment stopped for not doing forced activities that are useless at the best of times, even if the reason is because their provider is unable to do something.

More great stuff from Minister Rishworth & her department 👍

NSW can now designate a venue an "illegal" "prayer hall" on suspicion of it hosting "extremism".

I'm quite sure this will be used to ban pro-Palestine and/or anti-Zionist groups immediately. #AusPol #NSWPol

Good thing we’ve never had a home affairs minister where that sort of power might be abused, hey?

This is a product designed to provide misinformation
Health experts: Your synthetic text "AI" overviews are misleading, for example see this about liver function tests.
Google: Okay, we'll block "AI" overviews on that query.

The product is fundamentally flawed and cannot be "fixed" by patching query by query.

One of the many, many ways people are fighting ICE in Minneapolis is helping neighbors safely shelter at home during a time when abductions are genuinely rampant.

People in Minneapolis are doing *so much* great work
This was incredible. We fed 40 families today. Thank you to @jchavezmpls.bsky.social for helping fundraise, @elitalksmpls.bsky.social for organizing with me, and the dozen people who helped us pack and shop. And thank you to everyone who donated. I have no words.

Imagine the Australian government sending the army to fight in a war in which they, the Australian government, were enthusiastically funding the enemy. And asking them to fight for free. To risk their lives and mental health.

That would be mind boggling, and yet…

No book is going to turn kids into someone else. But books will regularly show kids other people like them and show those kids they're not alone. And they'll show kids other types of people who also exist. There is a large proportion of the population who are terrified of this.

If there's any genre that I'd say captures the hopeful optimism of Trek, of hopepunk, heck, of the radical left?

It's ska 😅
Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give
