*common misconception that is not helped by the name. We do not have an attention deficit. What we have is a focus deficit. We actually pay attention to everything. Not well though.
Should be fun 😁

Also, I think a lot of us were missed because of stigma. Looking back at my school days, I was a really typical presentation. It was obvious from my notebooks that I was not paying attention*

But I am also smart so I couldn't have a learning disability...🙄

If funding SNAP is considered "caving" and "giving the other side everything it wants" then your side is the wrong side.
See, I told you. I TOLD YOU that the freaking filibuster is why the Democrats caved in and gave Republicans everything they wanted!

Democrats sold out the country for an institutional privilege that doesn't even help them.
Heaven forbid the Republicans get rid of the filibuster…

Republicans gave up every bargaining chip they have in the funding deal.

They will restore the subsidies, or usher in universal healthcare.
As many as 200,000 Mississippians could soon lose health insurance, the state's Republican insurance commissioner, Mike Chaney, warned the Mississippi Free Press in October.

Those odds have increased since the government shutdown ended with no extension of expanded ACA tax credits.

200,000 Mississippians Risk Losing Health Coverage, Republican Insurance Commissioner Warns
About 331,000 Mississippians who rely on the Affordable Care Act could see their health insurance premiums jump by 37% on average unless Congress acts to extend COVID-19-era tax credits.

There is actually someone alive on this planet today that doesn't think Dems need to worry about the mid terms.

Yes, the number of people who required me to state explicitly to them that I have a stutter was much higher than it really should be. Also. Yes, the number of people who still tried to tell me what it's like to have a stutter, was not the zero it should have been.
...advanced dementia, and ending with me screaming at them, "STOP TELLING ME I HAVE ADVANCED *DEMENTIA!"

I haven't read the entire book yet but I did go through the part on the debate. One thing I will add that I know Harris wouldn't have. We all know how Biden speaks when the cameras are off.

I have been called "stubborn" with legitimate backing many, many, many times, but the level of stubborn it takes to insist that people abandon their most basic instincts, act in totally irrational ways, and answer completely different questions just to avoid having to admit you might be wrong...

You cannot claim that aka subsidies are going to expire because other people were allocated is to alleviate qnrvbwoth the go.
I'm still talking to you because of the cute dog in your profile.
It's about leverage. There are tough decisions to make when you're dealing with irrational and cruel people like the GOP. The shutdown was the leverage. The subsidies were removed in the legislation.
...your still having health issues. Interesting.
November 13, 2025 at 10:12 AM
I am really starting to tire of people who not only make up facts to fit their narrative, have the stones to insist that actual facts are not facts.

But my new favourite thing on top of that are the people claiming that we shouldn't secure food, or repair, or reduce reuse risks.
I'm not wrong. It's about severity and recovery. The subsidies are gone. The GOP will not give them back. That's over.
...hungry.

If you think we were stronger when people went hungry, and are weaker now that we have a full year of funds and supplies, you're wrong. We can now keep the government shutdown from Feb 1 to November 4.

What have we lost that we cannot replace or adapt or O er
November 13, 2025 at 10:02 AM
Okay, the thing is she's actually lying. AOC voted against food assistance. Republicans voted for it. And I hate that I live on a planet where I just said that.
AOC: "It is unconscionable that what we are debating right now is legislation that will give 8 senators over $1 million a piece & we're robbing people of their food assistance & healthcare to pay for it. How can we vote to enrich ourselves by stealing from the American people?"
November 13, 2025 at 12:38 AM
@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social @schumer.senate.gov how did almost your entire party decide it was a good idea to vote against SNAP funding while letting republicans vote for it?

Hunger should not be a more tolerable to Democrats than it is to republicans, and it should not be an acceptable tactic...
November 12, 2025 at 10:20 PM
@aoc.bsky.social thinks she has a chance at the Senate, when her every campaign event in the midterms is going to start with "you voted against opening the government until January 31st in exchange for SNAP funding until September 30th? Do you think this demonstrates good judgment, or care for...
November 12, 2025 at 7:50 PM
What's really sad about the ACA subsidies fight is that it's completely fictional. The GOP tricked everyone into thinking it's happening and it's not. They told everyone in the funding deal that they were going to restore subsidies. And no one paid attention because Dems suck right? Whatever deal...
November 12, 2025 at 4:07 PM
If all Dems secured in this deal was the SNAP funding to September 30 (it's not they secured much more), it is not giving up, it is not nothing, and it was secured by agreeing to open the government to Jan 30. You cannot criticize the Dems who accepted this deal without supporting hungry Americans.
November 10, 2025 at 8:22 PM
So it seems that most or all of the opposition to the deal is due to people believing any deal struck with republicans must be bad and did not actually read it.

I remind you that making claims about what the deal does or does not do, when you know neither, makes you an idiot.
November 10, 2025 at 4:37 PM
Republicans already have the ads attacking Dems for blocking the vote to restore the subsidies if this deal dies. The ads will be released as soon as people begin losing their health insurance.

Republicans surrendered and yet Dems are desperately trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
November 10, 2025 at 3:06 PM
What if MTG is acting normal because she's going to be installed as the new speaker when Johnson is removed on Thursday for not scheduling the votes to reopen the government?

I need those ACA subsidies.

My neighbors need food.

I’m not going to fault the only party that wants us to have both for only being able to secure the food.

Be mad at Republicans.
Be mad at your maga family.

Use the rest of your energy to give Democrats a majority.

People's reaction to the deal to reopen the government is a perfect encapsulation of everything wrong with society.

Dems made a tactical decision to lose a battle, so they can win the war.

SNAP is now funded until September 30.

Backpay is guaranteed in future shutdowns.

November 10, 2025 at 2:14 AM
Wait, they can shut down the government again on Feb 1, but without people losing SNAP benefits?

Guys (and gals) this isn't a loss. If the shutdown continued much longer, people were going to start complaining that they can't lose both healthcare and SNAP, and to just reopen the government so...
Welp, that’s the Senate side of the shutdown over, it seems.

Snow zoomies are the zoomies a winter dog (eg. Husky, Bernese Mountain Dog, etc.) gets after a snowfall resulting in significant accumulation, with the most significant usually being the snow zoomies resulting from the first significant accumulation of the year.
We have snow zoomies.
