Proud Anselmo
@proudanselmo.bsky.social
Finally free of the hell site. Fuck Nazi bigots.

Gay dude. He/him/whatever. If that pisses you off, see above.
He's not pro car, but that doesn't make him pro transit or pro cyclist. He's none of those things. He's also pro corruption.

It's amazing how republicans gave up every advantage they have, and everyone is furious with Dems over it.
November 16, 2025 at 12:06 AM
How did he cave? If subsidies aren't restored, republicans still face the same consequences as before.
November 16, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Republicans try to surrender and nobody notices
November 16, 2025 at 12:03 AM
Explain how people going hungry is a good thing.
November 16, 2025 at 12:03 AM
ADHD makes it an always and never thing.
November 16, 2025 at 12:01 AM
That's not it then...
November 15, 2025 at 11:31 PM
Wow. What a stupid thing to say.
November 15, 2025 at 11:28 PM
How far is Charlotte from the coast?
November 15, 2025 at 11:27 PM
Nope. That's behaviour. Thank you for admitting the gop have no leverage.

It is absolutely rational to back down when given sufficient reason to do so, and the gop gave it.
November 15, 2025 at 11:24 PM
To be clear, Doug Ford is not pro car.
November 15, 2025 at 11:22 PM
...of degree.
November 15, 2025 at 11:22 PM
...existing ones, because no matter what else they did, someone was eventually going to try and beat the train.

After that I started looking closely at intersections, and so many are so badly designed from any perspective, that there's no way it could have been designed by someone with any kind...
November 15, 2025 at 11:22 PM
...improve safety, traffic flow, etc. and also ignore the agency of pedestrians and cyclists.

I realized this talking to a friend of my mom's, who was in-house counsel at GO transit 20 years ago. He told me how GO had put a blanket ban on new level crossings and started removing a bunch of the...
November 15, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Totes get it. If you saw my entire transit related posting history, you'd be forgiven for thinking I'm pro car. And I am pro car, but in the sense that I think some people see vehicles as part of the problem, and because of that, miss some obvious and simple changes that could be made that...

What leverage do republicans have? Give me something. "Dems back down..." is behaviour, not leverage.

Some things republicans had as leverage: SNAP funding, RIFs, terminating backpay, but they gave all those up.

So please tell me what leverage republicans have.
November 15, 2025 at 10:26 PM
Then you are absolutely missing the point. The Dems have more leverage now.
November 15, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Like government.
November 15, 2025 at 9:19 PM
You are not paying attention.

If the other side offers you a great deal, you take it. The gop took hard choices off the table. Now Dems just have to make choices.
November 15, 2025 at 9:17 PM
They did.
November 15, 2025 at 9:13 PM
No, I'm really not. No SNAP payments are missing. It's actually pretty hard to steal money from government accounts, but there are tons of legal ways to do it. So why risk stealing when they could just use one of the legal ways, like the $20bn bailout for Argentina?
November 15, 2025 at 9:11 PM
The same level of moral, ethical, and intellectual bankruptcy necessary to say that the same 15 year old, if pregnant, is too immature to understand getting an abortion, but somehow is of appropriate maturity to be a mother?
November 15, 2025 at 9:09 PM
I don't think you can leave roads out, it has to be investing in transportation infrastructure. The best designed intersections take into account transit and cycling and pedestrians and vehicles.
November 15, 2025 at 9:01 PM
Oh all the nazi bars have been melted and recast, so it doesn't look like one, but I'm sure the Swiss have a registry somewhere tracking them.
November 15, 2025 at 8:51 PM
I'm pretty sure Dems have figured out that people don't care about democracy.
