We’ve always been open and honest with our kids about what’s been going on these past few years. Our reasoning was that black and brown skin kids don’t have the privilege of being sheltered from injustice and oppression. We owe it to them to be aware of what’s happening.
I think kids growing up in the Trump era should be told clearly that they are being raised under a regime that espouses white supremacy as if it is a legitimate politics, the same as any other.

They don’t deserve her grace, but she still gives appreciation for doing the right thing this time. Hopefully this becomes a trend with the party’s leadership.
