A celebration of the quirks of South Minneapolis live from the boost mobile store.

What’s Becca Thompson been up to during this occupation?

A MN republican state senator calling for trump to take ICE off our streets. If she can do it, so can every MN business and politician and media person.

All those people downtown yesterday, no ICE involvement, and not one incident. ICE shows up in a neighborhood and now another Minnesotan is dead. It's pretty obvious who the violent outside agitators are.

ICE really came into Minnesota expecting us to quickly say goodbye to our neighbors.

Clearly they did not realize Minnesotans are physically incapable of that.

Federal government seems to be admitting that Minneapolis is kicking ICE’s ass so badly they need to send in arctic warfare experts.

Today I feel I officially became a Minnesotan: rode my thin tire bike on a snowy 12 degree day to meet up with an admin of a hyper local mutual aid group.

I grew up in the DC area and was in middle school during the DC sniper attacks. The random terror, the deaths, the targeting of schools, the checking of strange cars. All of this feels the same except this is worse because no one was cheering on the sniper like republicans are doing here.

In minneapolis. I have not seen a police car in 5 days. I normally see multiple a day.

Meanwhile, ICE is speeding down my street and running redlights and stop signs

I find myself thinking again and again about how the Irish Rebellion was done via bicycles. No scannable plates.

The Bicycle and the Irish Revolution
Almost as soon as John Kemp Starley developed the first recognisably modern bicycle, the two-wheeled safety bicycle, in 1885, its potential military use was being explored by armies across the worl…

Community is running outside when you hear whistles

Walking through minneapolis is surreal. Stern faces Minnesotans standing on street corners eyeing any large vehicle with suspicion, speaking in hushed tones to those they pass “what is going on in this country”

It is difficult to fully convey to an outsider how much it feels like we are in a state of war in Minneapolis right now, except one side is attacking and killing people and the other side is asking to please just be allowed to live in peace.

Few images so succinctly capture the minneapolis experience than this:

-Law enforcement murdering
-Armed goons on the street
-piles of snow
-Minneapolis being weird

Not an exaggeration at all to say that the feeling in Minneapolis is that the entire metro area is being treated as occupied territory by federal agents. Impossible to overstate how overwhelmingly people here do not like it. This does not feel sustainable.

What do you call it when communities need to form groups to stop family abduction from an occupying force?
