Flaming Hydra has graciously given this out for free! For any Spider-Man fans and comic book historians, here’s a closer look at the story behind Mary Jane Watson’s iconic introduction, and who REALLY wrote it. Thanks to Josephine Riesman & Zach Rabiroff for this.

A Swingin’ Surprise or Two
The best-kept secret in the history of Marvel Comics was in high dudgeon by the time he sat down at his typewriter. It was a July afternoon in 1971, and Ron Whyte, a playwright and activist, was about...

FYI this is Harper Collins version of Monstrous Regiment makes transphobic changes to the endings of the characters as explained here:

This book is such a cool look at gender and presentation and utterly ruined so the "women" never change from that role

a lot of Clone Saga is a bit off and _then_ there's DeMatteis and Romita Jr going "let's do a straight-up gritty crime noir story set in Salt Lake City, with our leads being a depressed drifter and his unknown half-brother who stalks him, no we don't need any super-costumes"
I remember first reading the Clone Saga through the Lost Years, and my God I was fully blown away by John Romita Jr.’s art. Especially that page of Ben kneeling in the rain, total masterpiece of artwork there (hyperbolic, but those are my genuine feelings).

The Lost Years was a great mini.

The Kickstarter of the RPG Zine I was lucky enough to work on the artwork for has just launched! Anyone who's into RPG's, cool cars and/or my scribbles should enjoy this one – head over and pledge if you'd like a copy.

Lost Years is my favorite JR Jr work.

It's Ben Reilly's best story and the interpretive lens through which I view him.

People quit nitro so hard that they're trying to convince you to come back.

Don't.

Keep canceling nitro, flood support with how much of a bad idea age verification is, keep hitting them where it hurts.

In the wallet.
Discord is beta testing Nitro Squads for desktop users in Australia.

Squads offers 6 users full Nitro perks, excluding Boosts, for $33.99 AUD (roughly the cost of 2.5 individual subscribers).

This is also part of an effort to remove personal ownership from the computing market and force people into expensive and surveillance-heavy cloud subscriptions to replace the concept of a home computer, gaming machine, or tablet.
I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.

I always hate when people say “this game desperately needs a remake”, as if the original must be replaced with something new like some car model. It just rubs off on me the wrong way, almost as if the older media is being deligimized as art and treated as replaceable.

“Researchers have found that when a new plasma center opens in a neighborhood, foot traffic at local grocery stores increases, interest in payday loans declines and crime goes down, an indication of the way money from plasma props up households’ finances for necessities.“
Middle-class Americans are selling their plasma to make ends meet
Last year, people in the U.S. made an estimated $4.7 billion selling their plasma. Donation centers are popping up in middle-class neighborhoods, including suburban strip malls and college towns.

I have a very simple and straightforward two-step plan to Save The Video Game Industry:

Step 1: Globally eliminate the concept of a classed society and redistribute all surplus resources among the populace, permanently enshrining social ownership of the means of production.

Step 2: Ridge Racer 8.

Transphobia is a cancer of the heart and mind.

It is a useless fear, based on ignorance and cruelty.

Trans people are not responsible for a single one of the problems we face.

Do the world a favor and grow the fuck up.

I love this framing of Ben as Peter's shadow self, almost as if he emerges from the cracks in the walls. It's a fitting touch that Peter and Ben both don masks for their heart to heart. The one person Peter is most uncomfortable to engage with, after all, is himself (and likewise for Ben).
