I love that no border look!
Here’s a throw quilt I finished this past year, a bit different for me, inspired by a picture I saw on instagram. I actually made two tops at the same time in 2024, one was a gift for a friend so I got it quilted immediately because gifts are very motivating! But now this one is done too.

I feel like when this movie first came out, they advertised it like a silly Tim Allen movie. Then my dad and I watched it on a plane a few months later, and we were both blown away. My dad’s not a big movie fan, but he spent the next few weeks telling everybody how great it was. I am, and so did I!
Galaxy Quest - a perfect movie, just a wonderful love letter to actors, sci-fi, Star Trek in particular, and to fandom - really deserves a proper physical release with decent extras. Think Weaver's right that releasing a R-rated cut would be fun, too.
Sigourney Weaver Says She Wishes DreamWorks Released A Director’s Cut Of ‘Galaxy Quest,’ Reminisces On Sequel That Never Came To Pass
Sigourney Weaver reflected on cult classic Galaxy Quest and how she wishes the sci-fi satire had released an R-rated director's cut.

my favorite thing about the benoit blanc movies is that they aren't really about benoit blanc. he is not grappling with demons from his past. we are not getting flashbacks to the husband whose murder he never solved. he just shows up and does his job like mary poppins for homicides

That’s where salt boxes come in. They help residents treat tricky streets during snow and ice so everyone can get around more safely ❄️🛣️

Seen In Paducah
This is "Just A Little Crazy" by Elaine Braun who lives in Paducah, KY. This quilt was quite an undertaking. I don't think I have the vision to construct a crazy quilt. I bow to her collage ability. I'll post a close-up.

There is a post circulating on Bluesky encouraging the moving of a frozen turkey straight into a pot of hot oil. We are combating this misinformation the best way we know how - through the power of dance music.

If we ever were to get a sequel to D&D Honor Among Thieves, I'd hope they'd keep the exact same cast... but roll new characters on a new campaign. It would make watching them as a double feature both SO D&D accurate but also SO HILARIOUS.

OpenAI pirated large numbers of books and used them to train models.

OpenAI then deleted the dataset with the pirated books, and employees sent each other messages about doing so.

A lawsuit could now force the company to pay $150,000 per book, adding up to billions in damages.

Unless I read the announcements, I would have unintentionally misused the #dislikeButton. If I don't want to see posts from person, block/unfollow; if I don't want to see a topic, mute. Dislike, would mean "I do not like this (topic, story)" or "I do not support this" but never "stop showing this"

Timeless humour!

A 2,000 year-old Roman souvenir pen with a joke inscription roughly equivalent to:

“I went to Rome and all I got you was this cheap pen!" 😂

Dated circa 70 AD, this iron stylus pen was recovered in London during excavations by MOLA.

Neither Tor (US or UK) nor @subpress.bsky.social use DRM for their titles, so pick them up wherever you like. That said, if you buy the Subterranean Press ebook titles directly from them, they get to keep more of the money and that's good for them.
Got a best (for your wallet) place to order from for DRM free ebooks?
