An expert panel without a single Black voice on it? I knew y'all thought we weren't smart. I didn't think you'd be so blatant. I didn't even see CAF representation despite having CAF players listed. Before you get mad at me for pointing it out, look within.
The ESPN FC top 50 is here and we need to talk about the sudden conflict of interest the league has created with the high-impact player rule.

With coaches and GMs weighing in on these lists, they can influence whether or not their players can get a bag.

What is the point of consulting with the NWSLPA if you're just going to ignore what they say?

My Metro rewind looks very different from one year ago when I was commuting to NIH a few times a week, but I still love these year-end summaries.

YESSSSS this is great news.
Inbox: Washington Spirit have re-signed Canadian defender Gabby Carle through 2029. Her previous contract was set to expire after next season.

A very smart decision to keep a player who's become so important to the team

When an NIH scientist began studying a controversial illness, it gave patients with a glimmer of hope. Then came RIFs and spending freezes and too much uncertainty to continue the research.

Very few can convey the Mets fan experience (and psyche) like Roth can and his latest is on point as always.
I wrote my way through it on the meltdown over the Mets offseason, which has mostly topped out at a sort of abstracted melancholy for me. Includes an exclusive never-before-seen anecdote of me crying at summer camp when they traded Mookie Wilson. defector.com/theyre-outta...

It is so depressing to see creators I love in the podcasting space do amazing work and have to rub two pennies of Patreon funds together just to keep the lights on while these people just spew vaguely sports flavored misogynistic drivel into the microphone and get huge paydays for doing so.

People are really surprised that Mookie Betts - the guy who vehemently defended Trevor Bauer - is hanging out with a Nazi streamer and saying antisemitic and racist stuff?

This piece is pretty much all I have to offer anyone who asks me the loaded question about how my 2025 was. Seeing the faces of my colleagues and friends and reading their words is like a heavy object being placed upon my chest; I feel the weight of what's been lost.
