One of the things that sticks out in this story by Lillian is these kids talking about their faith, particularly when they talk about their Ramadan fasting and how it makes them feel.

Really excellent piece.
A survey by the American Muslim Advisory Council found that 46 percent of Muslim students in Tennessee have been bullied or harassed at school. In Nashville, Muslim students and staff are advocating for inclusive policies and religious accommodations.

ICYMI, hell of a good story by Lillian and Sarah on testing, curriculum and what information parents have to compare schools (hint: not much)
Tennessee voucher schools don’t have to follow the same standards as public schools. The result is a lack of transparency and a patchwork of testing and curriculum heavily influenced by Christianity.

Some Tennessee EFS recipients lack accountability of others - Nashville Banner
Testing and curriculum choices in Tennessee's private schools receiving public funding through school vouchers falls far short of public school requirements.

Hell of a piece of reporting by @sarahgracetaylor.bsky.social and @stelliott.bsky.social digging into piles of reports to show how the THP operation with ICE worked: Targeted areas, quick stops, little documentation
A Banner analysis of 1,700 pages of incident reports from the May ICE sting shows that the Tennessee Highway Patrol rarely documented traffic stops. Of the 607 total reports, only approximately 14% provided a reason for the initial traffic stop.
