The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

The role of the Judiciary is to resolve concrete cases and controversies, not to act as general overseer of the Executive. But in response to the government’s efforts to enforce the Nation’s immigration laws after years of non-enforcement during an unprecedented wave of illegal immigration, courts have issued sweeping, programmatic injunctions that usurp executive authority and empower judges to superintend law-enforcement activities under threat of contempt. So it’s come to this: I’m seeing articles that recommend foraging as a way to deal with food insecurity. Even better if you forage for edible invasive plants. Did you know you can eat kudzu? Um, no. I did not know that. You know why? Because we haven’t been hunter-gatherers for 50,000 fucking years!

The James Bond set was a challenge to myself to see if I can actually follow the story in a James Bond movie. I've seen many of them - I usually lose track of what's happening fairly early and by the end am completely clueless as to who's doing what for what reasons.
