I worked for this NIH institute, on this exact comms team, until February. This article is really great insight into what's been lost and why gutting the genomics institute at this particular moment feels targeted and could be quite dangerous
The hollowing out of NIH's comms has (ironically) gotten little press

But for one institute, it could mean they are failing their congressional mandate — and unable to rebut problematic rhetoric
