Political Behavior Commentary
@pbcommentary.bsky.social
Focused on the behaviours that move and shape politics and in turn shape behaviours, instead of regurgitating political hx, theories, and long explanations of political events that would never have occurred without human behaviours.
Remind them how Dems won the shut down mssg by coordinating non-stop relay mssgs on major/social media, as r-wing media do, b4 fucking Chuck caved for his rich donors, and how r-wing media esp Trump wielded political power in media when they’re out of power since 1980s including in Biden’s term.

Yeah, of course. They're evoking that photo of Obama admin watching/monitoring capture of bin Laden. Who are their audience? Low-info moderate/independent/swing voters and major media.
Trump just posted this photo of the sharpest minds in our intelligence community hard at work during the Venezuelan operation.

I bet if u go back to Walt and challenge him on his prediction, he'll claim nothing has changed and cherry pick w/"We still have our individual rights."
an annoying thing about realists insisting they're the no-nonsense reality-based group is that few of their predictions have been based in reality

This is a good sign. That Mamdani so far has no plans to back down on what are key issues that propelled him by using the book of his religion for his swearing in when I'm sure so many tried to get him to swear on the bible because of optics esp delusional appearance of non-partisanship.
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

Maybe it’s because we expected a system that’s on its own inanimate will behave better than humans do and we made no equal expectations of humans when using the system.
We have already had some great episodes of this new #Journalism2050 podcast - this is one of my favorites so far with @jayrosen.bsky.social - the internet that promised so much, what went wrong, and where do we go now
In a new Journalism 2050, @jayrosen.bsky.social recounts how the internet, once thought to hail a new age of democratization in journalism, became a tool for corporate surveillance and the centralization of wealth. With @emilybell.bsky.social and Heather Chaplin.

Why do those like u continue to expect corporate media @axios.com @cnn.com @cbsnews.com @nbcnews.com @politico.com to behave differently than any other corporations, like banks, oil, auto, food, pharmacy, clothing, housing, etc.? If u rid ur POV, maybe we can begin to redesign news media industry.
It’s not the news when you repeat incongruous lies coming from the White House. Come on, Axios. We need you to do better.

Major studios already face attached strings when releasing/producing films in China. Humans, esp business and the rich, are so nonchalant about the darker, more dangerous aspects of doing business with brutal leaders like MbS, like it w/n affect them.

Ummph. Looks like another prime candidate for Trump’s pardon if he has Trump’s price which appears to be $1M.

Just look at ur profile name. That’s out of creativity. U learned it s/wh. One of most creative subjects is dystopia. So is Barbie. Both encompass hundreds of concepts/ideas including amalgamating past/future. Sure (some) persons can do that on their own but eds can expand creativity/understanding
If I’m not a customer then why do I pay so much? I’m definitely a customer and as a customer I have certain expectations for the service rendered.

What the fuck ru talking about? Hard right beg’g w/those like Koch Bros spent decades putting in place levers and blocks from local gvmts to ed to SCOTUS to chip away at US democratic infrastructure, highly aided by Dems putting in leadership appeasers including Obama. Trump pulled those strings.
One theme here is the speed of American institutional collapse.
“It took Erdoğan 15 years to do what Trump did in 100 days. If [Americans] do not accept the fact that this is a long game, and it will be brutal, I think you won’t have the patience and stamina to bear it.”

The Dem leadership is entirely made up of followers. Any politician today with real leadership instinct knows that swing voter is just another term for up for grabs. The party that has the strongest and most persistent mssg campaign will likely win that swing.
“Strong floor, no ceiling” is absolutely the type of slogan that a focus group of swing voters will tell you they find appealing after it has been a whole hour and they just want to go home.

It’s a slogan for people convinced this country *really* wants a Mike Bloomberg presidential campaign.

I don't know. A hard-core reporter needs to look into that student to see if there was any coordination including with TPUSA. It all feels so scripted, because this is by far not the first incidence of its kind.
the primary thing that TPUSA provides to young conservatives is a blueprint for weaponizing the abject cowardice of university administrators against individual teachers and instructors, and university admins should take a long look in the mirror and think about what that says about them
OU has put the professor here on administrative leave:

One of the things I wish u media/academia would talk about is how far right awa how opposing political power (dems) have allowed far right make US ed/media/politics/etc waste resources to re-litigate fights that have been won diverting them from addressing vital issues like climate/poverty/etc.
In 2024, Charlie Kirk assigned his podcast co-host Blake Neff the task of taking MLK down a peg in the public's estimation. Neff is most well known for having been fired by Tucker Carlson in 2020 for being exposed as a white nationalist. www.wired.com/story/charli...

Using terms trophy and conquest is exactly how Trump wants media to frame his deliberately escalating violence to cement his dictatorship.
NEW of all the deep-blue sanctuary cities in America, Chicago is perhaps the biggest trophy for Trump's ICE crackdown. I spent last week with volunteer brigades and officials trying to fend off federal agents, and where everyone worries about escalating violence

That’s the entire problem. Trump
got in WH bec no one thought an ignorant, vengeful grifter would get that far. What’s frustrating is u all think he’s the exception, when this happens all the time. Haven’t u heard of failing up? This is on all us, not on Trump.
He really is the biggest embarrassment in our country's history. Can you imagine being president of the United States and being this pathetically insecure and petty?

That really pisses me off to no end. Why rnt outcries re anti-vax idiocy running HHS not include celebrities whose stupidity, self-involvement, over-extended view of their own importance like McCarthy made them think they had the right to spread dangerous nonsense? Why isn’t a/o going after her?
Yeah the internet might have been the biggest blunder in the history of the world but I'm sticking with humoring Jenny McCarthy as the beginning of the "stupid people allowed to speak out of turn" path that led us to Nancy Mace being allowed to speak on science to an audience
Nancy Mace: "You've got pregnant women recording videos of themselves taking Tylenol, which has now been linked to autism. They hate Trump more than they love their babies ... they're denying science."

History is written by those who are wanting to write it. Also, there are other political groups that have power over the goal post (pssst, it's the @democrats.org). So, far, I'm not seeing that party lifting a fucking finger to stop the re-writing. They leave it to social media for public awareness.
The extent to which this history has been rewritten by right wing propagandists while MSM slept for 2 yrs—so much so that the NYT doesn’t even catch it now.

When the “Censorship Industrial Complex” supposedly formed, silenced conservatives, & stole elections, THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION was in power.
Trump had his accounts suspended on January 7, 8, and 9th 2020. WHEN HE WAS STILL PRESIDENT. It was not Joe Biden because Biden was not President.
September 22, 2025 at 3:37 AM
U know why? Because u fucking Democrats did NOTHING to hold him accountable, especially by refusing to build a mssg machine to control narrative. Had Pelosi used her vast political power in Trump's impeachment for Jan 6 as she did to oust Biden, McConnell might have gotten Senate to convict Trump.
We are fast becoming a banana republic, with two standards of justice. If you oppose the leader, you go to jail just for speech. If you're a loyalist, you get immunity for your crimes.

That's what happens in Iran - not the United States. This is a decision moment for America.

Sure, sure, Eisner. We all are confident that if u were in Iger’s position that u’d w/o hesitation protect ur entertainment assets risking the $B merger. We know not all CEOs d/n put shareholders ahem bonus over what’s right. We just c/n find such principled people in corporate world.
Michael Eisner, who served as CEO of Disney for 21 years and acquired ABC while he was in charge, slams his successor Bob Iger for bending the knee.

Sorry. Still not impressed from Schumer. This has been long-time in the making esp since the Limbaugh Fox News start. Fucking Dems IGNORED HUNDREDS of road signs over the decades. They were incredibly deluded esp must win 2024, that they could serve donors, listen to consultants instead of voters.
Trump is reliably pushing even many ppl who would rather not be in a political legitimacy death match with him into that struggle.

The line differs from person to person. But the vast majority of Americans have some kind of line. And he will damn well try to cross all of them.
Donald Trump and Brendan Carr are putting America on the road to dictatorship.

Uh, remember a few years ago Mitch McConnell’s wife’s sister drowned when her Tesla car ran into a body of water and she couldn’t open the door and she was frantically calling/texting?
“.. parents told the regulator they were unable to reopen the doors of their Tesla to retrieve a child ..

“.. ‘Entrapment in a vehicle is particularly concerning in emergency situations, such as when children are entrapped in a hot vehicle,’ NHTSA said.”
