ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

Nabbed a couple of U.S. citizens, so the ICE interrogation questions stayed 100% relevant – Did you have a sex change? And, do you have a penis?

Super helpful for establishing citizenship status! Good work!
Once at the ICE detention center, Alice and Sofia were questioned separately. An agent asked Sofia if she had had a sex change and if she had a penis. Sofia told Alice back in the cell that she answered truthfully to both questions to avoid the officers from groping her for answers.

These ICE agents are the guys who could not get jobs as crossing guards. The old ICE was a specialized unit, highly trained in dealing with smugglers, human traffickers and, you know, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The new ICE is a Brostapo more suited to Mar A Lago parking enforcement.

a few things I want people to get from this:
-how tense it is here. I was death-gripping the steering wheel during this, even watching it makes me tense up
-how organized the community is. the rapid response networks are ENORMOUS and highly effective
-how completely the city is united against ICE

I’ve said it before but the absolute realest part of the Star Wars prequels is Anakin committing genocide on the periphery before massacring kids in the core
Now we’ve invited them into the middle of our cities.

We turned a blind eye to their peripheral violence for far too long and now it’s come to the core

As the Trump administration escalates its immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, arrests and aggressive tactics by ICE and the Border Patrol, many seen on viral videos, have intensified the frustration and fear among residents, business owners and immigrant workers. trib.al/zVm2mk5

yeah Mitch clearly gambled that courts would take out trump (ergo his post impeachment speech) while preventing a GOP Schism and, well, he was wrong
If McConnell had wanted to convict, Senate would have convicted. McConnell decided to pass the buck. His reasons were pure power politics: he knew a vote to convict would blow up the party. I suspect he also thought court prosecution would end T but also mobilize T supporters against Ds: a "win-win"
It was not the next President's or Attorney General's job to do the damn job of the Republicans in Congress (& the Executive Branch on 1/6/21). The anger at Biden/Garland is fine, but it's wildly misdirected without greater anger at the Republicans who are responsible for all of this.

Redrawing maps is just the start. Trump’s push to ban machines and purge rolls signals a year of lame-brained chaos. It’s a strategy of throwing executive tantrums at state laws, ensuring 2026 becomes a long, exhausting slog where administrative competence must battle conspiracy-fueled nonsense.
Trump is trying to change how the midterm elections are conducted
Many of these endeavors go far beyond typical political persuasion, challenging long-established democratic norms.

The evidence is increasingly pointing to the probability that an ICE agent killed a woman after misreading her as a threat because he was distracted by his simultaneous effort to record her so he could upload her image to a facial recognition database.
