It’s not the first insurance/billing related thing to annoy me. Some idiot is trying to make things like requests for information or payment “softer,” but the end result is just MORE confusing. I need to know what you NEED from me because I know you will DENY ME THINGS I NEED
That also looks rather spammy, so they're lucky most people even see it in the first place.

I just got a medical bill whose email subject line was WELCOME TO THE NEW BILLING PROCESS

Who approves this nonsense. If you need to get paid, tell me that and tell me why. Don't welcome me to pay you.

Zohran Mamdani loves his Astoria, Queens, neighborhood, and the feeling is mutual. But voters who live near Gracie Mansion, his new home when he comes Mayor in January, really wanted his opponent to win.

Keir Starmer was the model for centrists and popularists who insisted that moving right on issues, especially immigration, is how you win at politics.

Wonder if there will ever be any self-reflection here! Ah well nevertheless

Artificial scarcity should only be for rich people and their Rolexes and Birkins.
"Disability systems rely on artificial economies of scarcity. Programs are underfunded, so caregivers, teachers, social workers, and disabled people themselves are all pushed to project their needs as necessary and virtuous. But it doesn’t have to work that way." We could all learn from this.

We probably could have avoided the Youngkin governorship had the Va. Dems run literally anybody other than McAuliffe. TMac had the same Clintonian blind spot: he did not get that he was not personally very popular--people just liked things that happened when he was in charge.

The DAR attended my mom’s naturalization and served snacks to the new Americans. My mom also got a free “why America is free” book from the Society of the Cincinnati.

America: pretty darn great, actually
speaking as a personal example of this "heritage American" they have recently dragged back out of the rotting landfill of American history, I can tell you that even the literal DAR disagrees with these idiots! they *attend naturalization ceremonies* in celebration of immigrants becoming Americans!!!
there's no such thing as a "heritage american" and brain-damaged constitutional law professors and members of the vox cinematic universe treating it with respect is bad, and they should be berated

borders are fake, and america is what it is in the best sense due to periodically recognizing that

I have read the emergence of anti-vax sentiment as downstream of a general lack of trust in Science and Progress since the 1960s. It became harder to trust the white coats after, say, “children of thalidomide”…
But why? That’s what i don’t understand…why undermine trust in public health? Is he just stupid? Evil? Egomaniacal? Misinformed?
