Caucusing is how we get candidates on the ballot to challenge the feckless among us.
It takes VERY FEW people to shift the caucus.

Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.
The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.

Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.
Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.
One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

This article is enraging. Acting like Schumer wasn't involved in the deal (which we know he was because Shaheen said leadership was involved). And they bring in a quote from Fetterman that the "Indivisible folks" are too extreme and unforgiving. The media wants our cooperation so badly.

Steve Inskeep: You think the Republicans voting with you here will not only agree to these measures, but actually try to do something if the administration ignores them?

This is interesting; from a policy perspective, Hickenlooper seems to be the easiest target - further right than his electorate, made noises about backing the cave, etc.

Sen. Hickenlooper has been the Democratic caucus’ number one outlier in voting with Trump's agenda almost twice as often as would be expected.

By my count, our non-retiring incumbent options in 2026 are: Hickenlooper (CO), Coons (DE), Ossoff (GA), Markey (MA), Booker (NJ), Lujan (NM), Merkley (OR), Reed (RI), and Warner (VA).

The Democratic party is not a secret society. There's no test, you don't have to participate in a purity ritual, and you don't have to agree with everyone there. I promise it's not dangerous. Your country needs you, the party needs you.
There’s a two party duopoly in this nation.
Is it great? No! Is it reality? Yes.
Creating a third party means building up an entirely new infrastructure from scratch and then fighting both R & D.
Taking over the Dem Party is an easier and more effective route. It’ll take time, but it’s worth it.

This is why I am reminding people you may need to actually involve yourself with Democrats as a party if you want it to represent you.
In my old town the GOP had run basically without serious challenge for decades. A bunch of us "millennials" joined the local Dem party and basically asked to help.
We were running it in a year. Within 4 years we had a majority of town seats flipped Dem. A FAR more progressive Dem than old party

“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”
I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.
