New NES Works episode. This video, I hope, highlights the empathetic lens I try to view these old games through. I cannot begin to fathom the appeal of 8-bit fishing and gambling games, but clearly they were made for someone! Both got NES sequels! So they are not without value:

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.

And you know why?

Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.

If Mark Twain were alive today I think he'd say something like
"I've happened upon the most marvelous invention; a confection of some modern renown whereby a pair of wafer cookies are individually wrapped in caramel and chocolate. There is some debate as to whether the left or right is superior."

I've never been mad at a movie

Well there was one I remember complaining about in the parking lot and the next day afterwards but I can't remember what it was
fun question: what’s the maddest you’ve ever been leaving a movie theater? not necessarily worst movie you’ve seen, but the one that just pissed you off the most. mine is Batman v Superman

We all love Lucy Lawless I think, but it perhaps is underrated how cool a last name "Lawless" is because she is cooler then even that.

I find it frustrating that the left has been characterized as more prone to scolding when the right’s entire culture is built on an openly insidious kind of scolding

HR brought in a ton of egg rolls for Lunar New Year for everybody and they smelled really good but I kind of have a new thing of not eating communal office food anymore, I just can't spare the calories on something unplanned.

But I felt bad about it!

Highguard didn't hurt anybody, the viciousness and how hard people went at it was crazy. Whoever managed the rollout and marketing made some terrible decisions and whoever managed the finance and expectations in a way where they thought they had to immediately fire everyone was even worse.

Playing Red Alarm this morning. I never got this when I had a virtual boy because it looked terrible in screenshots, but it looks awesome in actuality, it's cool as hell. It's like what if the Vectrex continued into 5th generation consoles.

RIP Jesse Jackson. Here's a transcript of his 1988 DNC speech: www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/f...
It's the first political speech I remember hearing as a kid, and what a great one.

Was commissioned to do a king cake for a friends mardi gras fundraiser. Never made one before this so didn't have a little plastic baby to tuck into the cake so I improvised. Hope the winner enjoys my first attempt!
