Pinned
Graphite and white charcoal pencil on gray tone-paper, roughly 11×14”

My niece, a dancer, graduated high school on June 5th, and I drew this portrait of her that night, presenting it as a gift the next evening at her grad party. Forgot to post to here until now, but still proud of it

IMO, it raises the question of how useful are executives?
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

One of the things weirdly preventing me from Bluesky finally supplanting Twitter, is the overwhelming way the notif badge has an exact number of new posts I'm subscribed to. I don't need to know that. Just show me one to indicate there are some, like Twitter does

Bring back Superman’s weird round head
Superman—then all of two years old—made his first appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade 85 years ago, on November 21, 1940. Here's day-after coverage in the New York Times.

"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

Two things can be true at once:

1. The job of elected representative is thankless, and if you care about policy, exhausting, and of late it is more dangerous

2. Jared Golden bet heavily on being a Trump-lite Democrat and it absolutely backfired on him and he's bailing before he gets kicked out
Seeing deranged takes using Jared Golden's retirement to blame progressives or whatever.

Ignore them and read what Golden actually wrote. He is burned out and afraid for his family.

This isn't some intraparty Dem strategy fight, it's a bleak reflection of our society getting worse.
Jared Golden: I won’t seek reelection. Here’s why.
"What I could accomplish in this increasingly unproductive Congress pales in comparison to what I could do in that time as a husband, a father and a son."

Trump posts crazy stuff like this at times where he feels like he’s not getting enough attention and wants people to start talking about him again. It’s deranged, narcissistic behavior.
