What is the lifespan of software? What if you make software that's silly and full of whimsy? Will people remember it? Anyway, here's a video someone recently posted of “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan performed through the composer feature in Mario Paint, a game released on Super Nintendo in 1992
There are actually not enough addictive substances in the world to get you through this timeline jesus crist

It is actually very funny how much you can think you're cooking with chatgpt but it's just trash all the way down

My big life hack is that if you don't want to get added to group chats, just get an Android phone. This strategy has worked for me for a long time but today, I was added to my first group chat in since ditching my iPhone in 2015 and my god, how do you people live with this chaos

My big complaint about Frozen II is they needed at least one writer who played d&d or something so that they'd understand why, for strong storytelling, all magic needs a system of rules.
Good morning, friends. It’s time to vote in today’s first-round poll for the Walt Disney Animation Studios bracket. Which of these films should move on?

Can we just talk about cutaway drawings? Like this one from Marian Churchland? Of someone's little home? And there's a secret basement entry with a waterway and a boat dock? This is basically all I need for the rest of the day, I'm set

Just want to shout out the writers of the original She-Ra series, who were brave enough to ask what if Orko had a great rack

I'm getting around to reading The Ten Books of Architecture and I gotta say, Vitruvious? What a guy. Spends an entire chapter talking about how you need to cut streets according to the breeze. Dude would've killed it as a vlogger

I don't use Bluesky much but people get so angry in my replies even more regularly than on Twitter, which is just another reason I think this format may need to go on ice for a bit. I try not to post anything inflammatory yet I'll still get yelled at by a stranger over something like, a Muppet gif
What’s the funniest reason someone got mad at you on Bluesky this year?

Game developers, I love you but you gotta stop copying Elden Ring's inventory UI design. That UI was not even in the top 20 reasons that Elden Ring was successful

When the great divine entity of the universe imbued humans with the gift of creativity, do you think they knew we'd use it to put sliding barn doors on literally anything

Average person: Oh look, a reissued chair

The NYT: Reissued chair? Wrong. It's a franchise. And that lamp over there? That's a limited season spin-off crossover. This is culture now

Believe or not, I watched The Sound of Music for the first time today. I thought it would be goofy but wow that movie is wonderful. What a feat, balancing a musical against such a terrible era. And as far as Captain Von Trapp, I absolutely get it now 👀

So frustrating how we go through eras in tech where people who know better completely throw accessibility out the window. It feels like motion has creeped into almost every interaction and it's turning me into a woman on the edge

Say what you will about tarot, but I was just gifted a statement in a reading that has cracked open my life in a way no therapist has:

“You're being poorly served by a habit of confusing avoidance with autonomy”

so if you need me I'll be sitting on a log winnie the pooh style

This was legitimately moving. It's so healing to see emotionally available dads in media.

On another note, I would love to see Paul Scheer do more of this! It feels like a calling.

In 2023 I became obsessed with videos of dads in cargo shortswaiting in parking lots during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. So when she came to town, I grabbed a camera and headed down to talk to them. I thought it'd be funny. It turned out to be something else entirely.
