I would recommend for my fellow Americans that instead of being angry at people angry at us for our colossal failures to support basic human dignity you instead channel that anger at the people and our government that have created this colossal failure in the first place.

I wouldn't even call what the E.U leadership is doing a strategy. It's just the usual old "hope for the best and do nothing" attitude of the Merkel era.
Which is unfortunately why I don't have faith in this EU strategy: they simply aren't in Trump's ear as often as Putin is. Putin probably calls him every single day, and that's how you get Trump to consistently do what you want him to do.
