I forgot about seeing "mother!" and the row ahead of me was six very very old women and in fairness to them they all stayed to the end when one of them said to another "Phyllis you're never picking another fucking movie"

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

I’m not going to repost the abomination that he’s made, but please know that Darren Aronofsky sucks shit and always has. May I suggest watching the sublime filmography of the late Satoshi Kon instead (the person he not so subtlety ripped off)? Can’t really go wrong with anything in his catalogue! 💜
