Because the NYT is a fascist propaganda rag at this point masquerading as legitimate news. I'm sure there's many fine journalists there but the complete abdication of journalistic integrity by management/editors has eroded public trust and demonstrates it's all lip service. We have no free press.

Shereen has lost most of her extended family and her husband recently (while holding her son) had a chain from an Israeli aircraft fall on him and shatter his arm/ give him a head injury- luckily little Ahmed was safe. She started this fundraiser after this happened because he can no longer help
I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Shereen. Shereen and her husband (a house painter) fled their home early in the war thinking it would only be for 2 days. She lost everything as well as many family members. Her main concern is getting her son, Ahmed, 4 into a kindergarten.
