AOC: "It is unconscionable that what we are debating right now is legislation that will give 8 senators over $1 million a piece & we're robbing people of their food assistance & healthcare to pay for it. How can we vote to enrich ourselves by stealing from the American people?"

The same people complaining about Mamdani are okay with a leader of Al Qaeda hanging out in the White House. Yep, makes perfect sense.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

My god (sorry I’m late on a bunch of this stuff. But wow!)

According to this NYT report, the head of the FBI and the Attorney General are holding meetings *in the Situation Room* with GOP lawmakers they are trying to pressure to rescind their votes to release the Epstein info. This is madness.

Wait, what!?

Ghislaine Maxwell is being waited on ‘hand and foot’ in a ‘luxury’ prison: a top official said he was ‘sick of having to be Maxwell’s bitch.’

Trump made sure the woman who helped traffic girls for billionaires gets spa treatment in exchange for her silence.

The thing about my Daily Beast tenure I'm proudest of? How we stayed on the Epstein story for years, when all of the uptown elites were rolling their eyes and telling us to go away.
Oof.

Once a year the US Catholic bishops have a chance to make a joint statement of this kind. This time - for the first time in 17 years - they took advantage of this opportunity.

La guerre de quatorze.
The so-called Great War, the one that was going to end all war. Since war means never ending sacrifice & horror.

Ahead of midterms, climate policy has become a wedge issue splitting Democrats. After last week's electoral victories, some Democrats will only talk about expanding clean energy through lens of affordability. Others believe talking about climate change will win voters. www.eenews.net/articles/ret...
Retreat or recast? Democrats debate future of climate politics.
Democratic election wins last week reignited arguments on how — or if — candidates should discuss climate change on the campaign trail.
