Yeah, one of the hells of immigration policy is trying to weight the current moment vs an actual systemic change. And I’m not trying to grimdark anyone here, but: ICE and DHS have been “deporting kids under 5, and military vets, and breaking up families and loading up prisons” since the 00s.
the downside of no action now is the human suffering. the upside is time on target for the popular will to really start pushing the caucus.

This is a stupid confession, but I don't know how to be a Christian without also trying to be some sort of theologian.

This is a problem, as I don't have the time and energy to be an actual theologian.

In honour of Melania, here's a reminder that the thing Kane is applauding in this popular gif isn't good. It's very bad! It's his wife singing poorly in an opera he paid for.
a man in a tuxedo and bow tie is standing in front of a crowd .
Alt: Orson Welles as Kane in evening dress, applauding too hard to hide his humiliation.

A UAE investor secretly gave Trump $187 million and his top Middle East envoy $31 million. And then Trump gave that investor access to sensitive defense technology that broke decades of national security precedent.

Brazen, open corruption. And we shouldn't pretend it's normal.

I realize the obvious retort is, "What's the Minority Leader of the US Senate supposed to do? Refuse to meet her or denounce her on social media?"

I get that. I really do.

But.... that's less saying "this is fine" and more saying "the gaping hole in the road was too big to avoid, so we fell in."

This is probably one of my favourites of his.
This is a commission I did for Brad. He wanted me to convey how the Church is crumbling, and that while some are trying to repair it, others are taking it out into the world. Good theology sees the Church as the Body of Christ... something that should be shared. Brad loves it.

There's a certain type of proud Canadian progressive who thinks they are doing something laudable by sharing an AI slop pic of Mark Carney in a suit made of the Canadian flag, Pierre Poilievre in a suit made of the US flag, and the caption, "The choice is clear."

Don't be that guy.
Seriously.
