wrote something about how dark youtube is and why Corrie reminds me of mashed potatoes. it's not festive but it's quite nostalgic, which is close?

stop trying to make "future historians" happen. you can just say you've passed any hope of meaningful justice in this world onto an imagined secular afterlife. that's fine.

somewhere between my fourth turkey sandwich and "well someone needs to finish off the trifle" i became obsessed with the idea of a "trio of salads" to keep in the fridge during #cookjan. so here's a salad id make for lunch as a student, an adapted Anna Jones recipe, and some sharp citrussy things.

Indika (2024)

Indika shapes what an art-game can and should be like: flavourful, ambiguous and evocative. You are a bullied 19th century russian nun haunted by a questioning voice.
A classically surrealist meditation on faith & temperance in the digital dopamine era. wahoo

Good news from Greater Manchester. Time restrictions are being lifted on disabled people's bus passes from 1 March.

Now we need other areas to follow suit to end the postcode lottery. Let's make 2026 the year we can all make the journeys we want, when we need to make them.
Travel on the Bee Network will be affordable and even more accessible in 2026 with fares frozen at the £2 cap and concessionary pass holders able to travel for free before 9.30am www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater...
The 9.30am rule has gone but £2 fares haven't - all Bee Network prices next year
The mayor decision to lift the '9.30am' rule will affect 400,000 people

I'll try doing #CookJan even though I'm not in the mood for daily photos. I always love seeing what everyone makes, and would hate for it to stop because no one's joining in.

Also, I need to shout about the cookbooks that made my meals better last year, should anyone care to listen. So let's go!
im really looking forward to #cookjan, a twitter tradition that's just about survived the move over here

here's the explainer from @aliceslater.bsky.social's blog. (and an annual reminder to mute that hashtag if you don't want to see food pics, for any reason).
